I want to Point out that as Marlon said, there is not clear information why it has not happened. As in it may have passed in it's current form. There can be clerical problems and who knows, maybe it was just not submitted in the correct window of time to get things moving.

We know the certification is not given yet, this does not imply a failure on the Emissions alone.

Re: 2014 diesel production

If the Cherokee's headlights weren't so terrible, it'd be a good looking car. But this is the Grand Cherokee forum so I'm not sure why we're talking about the Cherokee.

It was just mentioned that they are even having delays with the Cherokee. That's all. Not that makes us feel any better.

Those other SUV's have EPA certification---the current VW Treg model since 2011. It shouldn't be an excuse from Jeep to not be able to get it right for EPA certification, IF that is part of the holdup.

Just saying...
+1

All of those were available right from launch.

Re: 2014 diesel production

FWIW I contacted Fueleconomy.gov about the first '14s being delivered with window stickers referencing fueleconomy.gov without any listing being there.

This is part of the reply "The Fuel Economy website is produced at Oak Ridge National Laboratory with data provided to us by the EPA. The EPA sends us data in batches, about every two weeks. We have no control over when the EPA releases the data to us however, we get it posted as soon as we receive it. The EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality is responsible for all vehicle testing, certification, and labeling."

So the lack of a posting of the diesel may have nothing to do with whether it has been certified or not, just whether the EPA has provided the data to Oak Ridge.

AFAIR from some years ago the actual testing is done at the mfrs site on dynos. The MPG ratings are a byproduct of the emissions testing and I have seen city/highway number published for both 4x2 and 4x4 diesel WK2s that had to come from somewhere.

Of course games have been played before & the EPA does not always take kindly to them. The most notorious resulted in an engine color change in for all Pontiac V8s in 1973.

Scott (not quite Milous, but close) heard form a good source it was being pushed back again.... he speculated Q4 before arrival. I tend to agree with him... sorry guys, I feel your pain -- but I have no more pain since I gave up and ordered the HEMI earlier this month

Re: 2014 diesel production

I apologize for my ignorance, but can someone help me to understand the terminology/timing? If arrival is in Q4 when would production start? Q3 or Q4? When would orders take place? When eating stewed prunes is 2 not enough? Is 3 too many?

Prunes, 3 is too many unless you want other problems

Q's are used to keep it vague. That way they have 3 months to either build or deliver. Based on some prior Build times I seen, once moving they can get them out the door pretty fast.
