Re: 2014 diesel production

Well, wife is happy - decision made and money officially put down on new SFU (Summit 4x4 Diesel, Cashmere Pearl with Brown interior)!

This is one our local dealer already had on order, so I'm being told that it will ship this week (being built today/tomorrow). As soon as I know it is official, I'll get my VIN and info to Milous!

While I did short-circuit the process a bit (by not ordering and waiting forever like everyone else) the wife and I have been zeroed in on the GJC diesel since mid August - just had to get other financing issues out of the way (refi house, etc).

Now the obsession deepens...!

Re: 2014 diesel production

It might be a little early for this question.
For those who work for Jeep and all of you who dealt with dealers, is the diesel perceived has a success?

I'm hoping it is , because I want to see it in a Wrangler.

Since about 3-4 people have one I don't think anyone can call it anything yet...I hope it is.

I meant what I said because, without all of you early guys' excitement and clamoring about the CRD, especially in August, I would not have recognized that the EcoDiesel was the perfect Jeep. I had already ordered a V6 gasser, it was due to deliver in mere days when I decided to change my order.

When I wrote emails to Jeep corporate, I did so on behalf of all CRD buyers. I had no expectation to be singled out. Honestly, I felt guilty to have received a push when many of you early guys were still waiting. I hope we all receive solid units and we have great things to say about our perfect Jeeps.

It's typically about 4 days to the Westfield yard once you get notice of "Release from Industry" I'll keep watching yours as it makes it way home to Texas. As fellow Houstonians (metro at least), I look forward to an opportunity to meet for coffee or lunch and compare notes about our Jeep experiences. I'll send you a PM...
Oh I remember many years ago wistfully looking at a F250 CC long bed with the 7.3 diesel that was earmarked for me. I bought from Tommy Vaughn and they had so many vehicles ahead of me, it took two weeks for it to get in my hands (with 7 miles on the odo). I should have never sold that vehicle.

Any chance some of the 11 bound for Northern Virginia are just passing through on their way further south?

JNAP tractor beam, yes that is what it feels like. I think Shannon will see his before I do, and he won't be going to Houston for over a week...
