If it's not easy to figure out, don't bother. Just wondering.
If I can manage it, I will be at the dealership the day it shows up to check it out. I expect the PDI could carry us into the next day before the sale is inked, but given the trustworthiness of some of the sales reps I've experienced at this dealership, I will leave nothing to chance!

Especially if this is the first load of diesels in NorCal.

To answer your question, using absolutely no reliable information as my basis, yes. Looking at old MOTS data, almost all Benicia bound GCs left between Wed night and Friday morning. It seems there's probably a train a week around this time. I could be completely wrong on all points, though.

How can I end up in bay at Jefferson, presumably to catch a train, then end up departing Charlevoix two days later for Jefferson? Is it musical chairs?

Last I knew there were trains that have routes to Oregon (e.g., Union Pacific and BN&SF). At this rate, looks to me like we'll miss the estimated delivery date--again. Oh well.
Charlevoix Yard is just the big lot right outside the North side of the plant. Your vehicle hasn't been travelling very far..

On another note, my build sheet has: BNHP Hill Descent Control

I thought the diesels would not have that?

I ordered one from koons as well. It's been stuck in pre release for a while now though; 2 weeks... I wonder why it's taking so long to go D1. Is there an issue with the scheduled builds? Any insight would be great.

They all have hill descent control, they do NOT have hill ascent control (Selec-Speed)

Yea.. The problem is in just one plant, we build 2 different models in 10 different trim levels with 5 different engines, for the entire world. Other than that, all is well at the moment.. So pull up a chair, might be a while. There's more than a couple non-JG members out there who want their Jeep just as bad as you do.

Woe is me..

It makes no difference. I'm in it for the long haul. Here's a question for those who might know; do these engines use glow plugs?

As for the Wrangler, there's some interesting things in the works there, I'm sure you'll be happy with.
Thank you Sir!
You just made my day
Looking forward to a Wrangler thread

Thanks willx!
The first day I couldn't keep tabs on the forum and I get movement. Hoping this means I am on a truck in route to me dealer! I will be in the same situation tomorrow, hoping everyone sees a lot of movement, but if I get mine this week it will be prepared to answer question, and send pics.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Boy, I step away for 12 hours and I see unicorns with bacon wings, a few more going KZ, only a few of the original gang left to go KZ, Vtail decided one SFU just wasn't enough, and decided to order another - like he didn't have quite enough stress due to waiting and the obsession (by the way, I'm keeping one of the padded rooms in the ER open for you when you finally lose it). But still no pictures of WIllx's ride. I'm guessing you have been too busy driving it around (if I am correct, I thought you were taking delivery Monday night). I thought this place was crazy before the KZ, but I am finding that since we all lost our sanity waiting, anything is now fair game. Heres to skittle farting unicorns with bacon wings flying over Jefferson North coming to say "hi" to Chevy and make sure the rides that have gone KZ are on the trains.

It won't be that bad.. You'll be on your way out by the time Santa comes to town. We're just a little behind bc we continue to add options to the equation yet there's still only 24hrs in a day and 7 days in a week. I'm actually surprised we kept up as long as we did this year.. Normally by the end of June going into Q3 we're 50,000+ cars in the hole. Which on one hand is a good problem to have, but on the other, customers' patience does run thin.

And yes, it does have glow plugs.. If you still wanna call em that. Glow plug technology too has come a long way, so you don't need to sit there for 20-30 secs and wait for em to heat up. I actually tested this last winter on a couple of the pilots in the yard on some of the colder days.
