Congratulations on the arrival of your unicorn and doing your own research.

Looks like Gary3000 will catch up today or tomorrow and at this rate probably even pass me. Will said this would be maddening once there on the rails and he wasn't kidding.

Like the vast majority of you I was not able to test drive prior to ordering so the dealer was good enough to order exactly what I wanted but did not ask me to put down a deposit. If I test drive it and decide not to take it, no harm no foul. Based on what I've read in these threads there's probably not a snowball's chance that I'll walk out empty handed.

So, its getting close to time to slap leather and I was wondering the range of deals those about to take possession expect to get. The dealer said my CRD will MSRP for $47,085 and his first shot was that "he could sell it for $45,800" or 3% off MSRP. I know there's room to go lower but wondered what is the pricing norm for a new launch like this?

I wonder if some of you already have deals prior to delivery or what some of you are realistically expecting to pay, on a percentage basis, below MSRP?

And happy motoring to all!
When I ordered my diesel in September, I signed an priced order with the dealer locking the price. I'm paying $52.5K on a summit that stickers for $57.2K. That's 3% under invoice and 8.4% under MSRP.

It's definitely not the best deal, but one I was happy with as the dealership is very convenient for me.

I actually had a slightly better quote in writing from another dealership but my dealer simply refused to match it, he said he wouldn't be able to sell me a car at that price and wished me good luck...

No, I just picked a nice hotel near the airport. Hoping to meet up with Brainstormer either that night (I get in late) or for breakfast before my wife and I pick up my Jeep. The dealer said he is too busy to pick us up, but said to save the taxi receipt and he will reimburse me. Brainstormer has also offered a ride to the dealer. If we meet for breakfast, I will definitely take him up on this offer - what a better way to go to the dealer - in a JGC diesel driven by a great guy. I will be posting milage info and reviews every night during the trip back.

Still waiting for that almighty westbound train.

Thx.
This issue is supposed to be fixed in our Jeeps. They discovered while ours were still at the factory, and therefore should be taken care of before release. Jeep does not want recalls, therefore will fix known problems before release. This is not what was related to the recent 24 hour delay. That issue has also been resolved.

I hate to bug Willx or Milous as I know they've been flooded with PMs on delivery status. But what does this mean? Has my unicorn been loaded on a railcar or just moved around some more, back and forth from one lot to another? I assume if it was actually loaded on a railcar that it would say that explicitly?

Would love to buy before Christmas and hopefully before the snow! Thanks in advance.
Most everyone here is waiting for orders that were placed day 1 or there abouts. Not one of the experts here, however, I think all of us would be surprised if you didn't see some non pre-orders on dealer lots by Thanksgiving.

If you are in North Jersey, there are two members here who got a good deal with someone up there. If you are in South Jersey, Pellegrino treated me well. There is a group buy in Tyson's corner VA that you still may be able to get in on.

Ah yes, I got the descent and ascent crossed. I guess with a Diesel and the TQ the thing puts out at low RPM, you could probably just idle up any incline the vehicle is capable of anyway in low range.

Thanks for you help. We didn't want to order having never test driven one. But I don't think there's a chance we won't love it once we do! I'm in ocean county NJ the dealers around here seem incompetent on supplying any info. Apparently they don't need the sale.. I will look into your dealer since it's not very far away. Any other tips are appreciated thanks a lot!
