Yeah, I figure his was there early enough in the morning that maybe it could have caught a ride. But then again, I'm not 100% sure if mine is being dumped in Council Bluffs or if it goes a little further west before being dumped in another lot. Hopefully I'll find out in the next day or two

Yup, I can't restate this any harder.

Make SURE you do a full walk around, and check everything on the checklist.

I caught lots of little things (seals not seated right, trim being loose, and a missing security shade(!)).

Your finger tips are your best friend in lots of place. Feel for uneven paint (ripples, bubbles, dust under the pain causing ridges), scratches (happens more often than you may think in transit), and panel gaps (run your finger along the jams, hood/trunk seams, and seals, your finger will tell you instantly if the gap narrows or widens.

I can't recommend enough the checklist that some folks threw together. Lots of little bits in there that you may otherwise not think to look for.

However, expect an annoyed (and/or worried) tone out of your sales rep, and dirty looks from the Service department and Detail shop. When I took delivery of my Durango, I spent an hour and a half going over it inside and out and found lots of little things that the dealer quickly took care of (if only to get me out of the detail bay).

And I can't express this enough, GET A COPY OF THE PDI SHEET. Make sure they have done everything they should (like, I dunno, checked your DEF levels).

Re: 2014 diesel production

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine whether the DEF tank is completely filled when picking up the vehicle from the dealer? I know the EVIC will warn when the level is low but is there also a def gauge available?

I think someone said they found the level indicator in the EVIC. When you go into the system info for the various bits on the Jeep (like Transmission temp and Oil pressure... it's in there).

Re: 2014 diesel production

Sorry if this has been explained before but in looking at the different shipping notices, what does released from industry mean?

I believe I remember Willx saying that it means Jeep is now in care of rail company and should be leaving shortly.

Thanks Temerarius, I'll try rereading the manual and see if I can spot it.

Dumb question - What is a security shade?
