I can't find this post, can you link to it? I remember the poster saying he could send out an original excel document, which I would love so I can make some edits.

Congratulations!!!
Acceleration is brisk. Turbo lag is there but the motor doesn't fall flat when you punch it. It just goes from accelerating to accelerating a lot. I'd estimate lag at 0.3-0.5s which is pretty quick.

I'll spend some time today driving and taking some pics. Ask anything you like and I'll do my best to answer.

Re: 2014 diesel production

My unicorn just reached final destination. Schmelz, you were absolutely correct. Selkirk seems to be the transloading destination for CT deliveries. Willx was also totaly on the money regarding the crazy rail routes. To get to Selkirk from Cleveland, the rail car traveled through West Virgina (100's miles away) , so for all current rail travelers, listen to Willx recomendation and hang in there. Sent an email to the dealer and asked to be invited to the unloading. I'll keep everyone posted.

I can say from experience now that that tiny little bit of lag almost disappears after 80 or so miles. It is also of course less perceptible once nice and warm.

Great write up. Glad the adjustments were simple!

Ok...sorry for the delay guys. I ran my phone battery down about the time I left the dealer and all my charging gear was in a big sack transfered from my traded car.

Here's the rundown:

First...the deal. My dealer started backing up from the 4% off invoice we verbally agreed on. I used my Affiliates membership and got him back to 1% off. He offered 10,800 on my trade and I got him up to 12,500 due the squeaky clean perfect condition. So that put me where I needed to be. I'm happy.

Then...the checklist: As mentioned, the passenger door and taillight needed alignment. 30 minutes later, it was all good. I "unwrapped" her myself. My "DIY dealer prep" took all of 5 minutes to remove all the plastic. It was fun...glad I did it. As requested, no front plate holes where drilled, no washing, cleaning...nothing but mechanical checkout. It had 5 miles on it at delivery.

The ride home: It started raining cats and dogs about the time I needed to transfer my stuff from old car to new. I got soaked. I dropped the GC keys in the cargo area by mistake and although the GC started, I had no idea where the keys were...so we located them before departure. I followed the owner to the gas station and he filled it up...but the DEF tank has the 2.5 gallons from JNAP. I'll get the other 2.5 gal later. I was late leaving anyways.

I ran 60mph on gradual rolling hills with maybe 100ft peaks on 2 mile intervals. The EVIC showed 31.9mpg over a 50 mile stretch. When I got into town, I played with Sport Mode...lots of revs in that mode. I wouldn't recommend it for daily driving unless aggressive acceleration is required. The motor feels VERY willing and a bit busy in Sport Mode. Regular D Mode with Eco turned on was perfect for typical traffic. I pushed it hard a few times and drove faster than traffic for 12 miles in town and the EVIC average dropped to 28.8.

UConnect worked great but I touched a fraction of the menus since it was raining and I needed to pay attention. The RA4 radio sounds good...not amazing...but good. A 5 band EQ would have helped vs the 3 band provided. Its a tad bass heavy with slightly strident mids and soft highs. I set them as follows: bass -1, mids -1, and highs +2 for an initial improvement while not driving.

Wet Handling: the 18" stock tires didn't show any signs of hydroplaning or slippage. The wipers on auto did what was needed in a variety of rain conditions from drizzle to heavy.

Night Driving: I liked the interior lighting and LED ambient lights in various areas. They didn't bother my night vision. Neither did the 8.4 screen. The dash is so vivid that I thought the odometer display, when I first saw it, was a sticker that needed removing. Seriously. Also, the automatic headlights work perfect...much better than I could do manually. The headlight low beams are nice and high beams are amazing. No complaints.

Fill up: The pump I used had the mid-sized nozzle. It was larger than the gasoline nozzle next to it. It fit fine and it appears that the large nozzle will too. Way to go, Jeep!

The seats are a bit firmer than the posh leather in my Murano LE. Side supports are more sporty and hold you in place. Adjustability was fine both in the seats and steering column. I am 6ft tall and 185lbs and everything accommodated me well. Driver leg and foot room was better than I had read it would be. No issues.

HVAC: worked great. The heater and AC followed my request and defrost worked well in the chilly high humidity of the rainstorm.

Handling feels great. The QL goes up and down on command. Everything is awesome so far...and its a buttery smooth and powerful diesel!

Mission accomplished!
What a great initial report. Glad to hear that the issues were resolved so easily, and everything worked so well. I take delivery on Friday, I am anxious to compare and report my experiences as well. So far, it seems Jeep has created a huge hit.

Congrats to those getting deliveries and finally experiencing the EcoDiesel reality.

Not only did our dealer in Houston offer one of the BEST deals in the country, he is standing solid even though prices went up. He has never suggested that our original deal might change. For those local, he is also providing loaner vehicle through warranty at no charge. Rarely have I had a car buying experience this easy or enjoyable. Thanks, Mark!!!

Great seeing the reviews from guys who are getting their new rides, but it makes the wait for mine even more excruciating. Mine seems to be stuck at Jefferson even though supposedly it is on a railcar. As Charlie Brown would say, "AAARRRRGGGHHHH". While I wait I keep waffling back and forth - should I get new tires or not, should I buy the extended warranty or not, should I get the film protection or not. Right now I'm thinking why spend all that extra money, just take the car, enjoy it and stop fretting. I did order mats and a cargo liner, those will be here before the car.
