Thanks much for the up date on the lag. Enjoy the ride; I'll be glad when the dealer gets one to test.

Thanks again for the great write up.

Latest Jeep Inspection Checklist

OK - here is the latest version of the inspection check list compiled from user inputs from the Durango and Diesel Production forums. Edits from original version are highlighted with a light blue background with a revision date in the comment column.

If you want the Excel version which can be modified, sent me a PM with your email address. Please repost with your corrections and additions so collectively we can improve this doc.

And to answer the unasked question, it was compiled with an Engineer with OCD, and too much spare time, who believes if it isn't documented, it won't be checked & fixed.

Responding to a point raised in an earlier post, unwanted ArmorAll can reportedly be removed safely from interior surfaces using Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer D14901, microfiber cloth and elbow grease.

Still waiting on my ride to arrive, just a few more days.....

While I wait I keep waffling back and forth - should I get new tires or not, should I buy the extended warranty or not, should I get the film protection or not. Right now I'm thinking why spend all that extra money, just take the car, enjoy it and stop fretting. I did order mats and a cargo liner, those will be here before the car.
I've been thinking about the warranty myself and here is where I'm at. My truck is 9 years old now and has had very few problems but it has had some. I spent probably $500 getting the drivers window motor replaced, which was two different parts and two different trips. So I do wonder about this, had it happened under an extended warranty would I have had to pay 2 deductibles? I didn't have to pay labor the second time because I told them they didn't fix it right. I had to pay about a hundred bucks a few months ago to get the tailpipe welded back on though to correctly fix it would have cost significantly more. My rear park sensors don't work and would probably cost 200-500 to get that fixed, but doesn't bother me enough to spend that money. My heater switch is funky, it decides to blow air out any one of the 5 vent settings as it sees fit. So I have it on my feet and it will just decided to blow it out the vents in the dash. Well that's an $800 fix that isn't worth that kind of money to me since it only happens when it's really cold. So if I added all the things that I should fix up, it might cover the $2000 cost, but I'm thinking it would be nice to be able to just get those things fixed rather then having to deal with them. So I'm leaning more towards buying the warranty within that first year.

As for tires, since we have the exact same GC on order, I will replace mine with Nitto Terra Grapplers after 30k-ish miles. I have those on the truck now and absolutely love them. Although those are 17's so probably a little more aggressive then the 20's. I don't plan on rock crawling but will go off road as the need arises. More concerned about regular driving in snow and rain though.

Thanks Matt. You don't happen to know which carrier it was? I called Jeep this morning, pretty much worthless.

Please semi, deliver my SFU.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Is New Boston the jumping off point for shipping around the country? Looks like my sfu has arrived there before coming north.
