It finally got moving with: "Released from Industry 11/06/2013 11:43 AM EST On Railcar - CN - King Road, Woodhaven, MI" but nothing else on MOTS shows a vehicle on a railcar in Woodhaven; they almost always go from there to New Boston to get on a railcar. The next (and last) update was: "Train Arrival 11/07/2013 01:33 AM EST On Railcar - Flat Rock, MI" but no other vehicle enroute or delivered has ever shown a stop in Flat Rock, MI.

My estimated delivery keeps slipping, but should I be even more concerned about it taking a different route than all the other Jeeps heading to Houston?

Thanks!
Well, obviously one of the guys "in the know" can tell you more. But, from what I've seen the MOTS data doesn't necessarily show every stop. It looks to me like it's dependent on when Milous does the check. If several things have happened since the last update, he just shows the last one. So just because previous data doesn't show Flat Rock, MI doesn't mean others didn't go through there. It just means that he managed to snapshot your data while it was there, and didn't for others.

Also, I recall Chevy telling Chivv that it made total sense that Chivv was in the Woodhaven yard due to his destination. And also note that Woodhaven and Flat Rock are practically side-by-side and appear to be virtually the same thing. So I suspect that you're just seeing movement around the yard getting ready to hop a train out of town.

One final note, while it doesn't show up in the MOTS data, if you do a forum search for "flat rock", you'll see posts about people saying their vehicle was there, especially some of the SRT crowd. So you're not the first to go through there.

Looks basically normal to me ... but I don't really know much, so take that for what it's worth.

Except they shipped me back to New Boston before I got on a train...

Re: 2014 diesel production

Well I must have good timing.. I ordered my oil burner on the phone 10/15.
Got my VOTS notification on 10/17 and the things in shipment as of today. No rainbows, no horny horses, no candy shouting out of orifies
I have no idea what all the fuss is about

I'd tread lightly ... there are some 8/9'ers around that may lynch you and/or pay to get yours absconded.

fun2drive is just really nice
Re: 2014 diesel production

Finally got to drive a diesel Limited today but was 4x2. Who buys a 4X2? Anyway left my salesperson with a couple of questions and told him that if the dealership wants me to order one there they will have to match the deals we can get here.
Questions I asked.
Can I delete the sunroof completely (the big ass one on the LUXII package)?
Does the JGC come in Pacific Blue (as updated in our order section late Aug 13 I think)?
What is the longest extended warranty I can get given it is a diesel and lifetime is out?

Observation from a 20 mile drive. Some diesel racket at idle, not objectionable at all. Driving it was quiet at all speeds but never went over 65. You can display a digital speedometer (big points for my wife that is what she likes). Telescoping wheel really comes back far based on where I sit (another big plus for my 5'3" wife).

Plan to order this week and come aboard with the rest of the crowd.

I moved up to a lvl 4 membership before even knowing I would order one because I think I am diesel addicted. Last thing is the the LUXII package does come with the same light bucket that the Overland on up does.

Is there a compelling reason to get an Overland over a Limited when I don't really care about the various lift levels for off road since where I go off road is mostly sand?

Last week, when it was clear that the SFU's were nearing (and it was the 31st of the month), I contacted a few dealers down here to see if they would bite. One told me they would order for effectively $500 over invoice, while the other told me they FOUND what I wanted and to come on in. Sure enough, they printed me an in-transit window sticker for my exact build desire. BUT - the Sales Manager wouldn't budge off of $1000 over invoice. I told them I needed 3% below to start talking, thanked them, left, and did my own search to find that build. Turns out to be one of our JG members! Fortunately, the dealer was very honest about it being a sold order, and told me he would give me 1% below invoice to order another.

Today, I get an email from the dealer that found the sold one. The gist: You came and went, and we want your business. Challenge us to win it. So I bit. I gave them my specs, and said I wanted it for 4.5% below invoice. I was shocked at the response: "Done".

Went in, met the guy (General Manager), and had a great chat about it. He agreed that he wasn't making anything, but also agreed that a sale was a sale, and he had no risk on this.

Long story short: I am on order, awaiting VON, and upgraded membership due to EVERYTHING ON THIS SITE getting me the deal I wanted. Sure, I could have traveled to DC, but that would have incurred cost in both money and time. Now, I just have to wait...and PM Milous when I get the info...

Feels good.
We will be here for you, ask around, I have a coffee IV Bag trailing me throughout the day!

If you do a search, you'll see this is an oft-asked question.

I used to have the differences memorized, as I was debating between a "loaded limited" and an Overland. I may be forgetting some, but off the top of my head:

- overland has power folding mirrors
- overland has puddle lamps
- overland has "ambient lighting"
- different grill
- limited has black trim around the fenders and body panels, overland has body-colored
- different colors of interior/exterior available
- overland has wood on the steering wheel
- overland has leather dash
- overland has piping on the seats
- overland has "better" wood trim

So basically all cosmetic stuff except the power folding mirrors.

Some have brought up the argument that you'll get better resale on an Overland vs a similarly-equipped Limited, but that may not be relevant depending on how long you plan to keep it.

I think also that with the Limited you don't *have* to get the advanced tech group with the diesel whereas the Overland requires it.

My SFU is 5% of the way home...that's a start! Willx tells me she'll be partying in Chicago tomorrow. With any luck I'm hoping it will be here early to mid next week.

YES!! Absolutely. The system constantly generates averages based on past history.

I have mentioned to a few people that ALMOST everything is running 24-48 hours past average. There are some that are way ahead of that curve but the great majority of these movements are beyond average.

There is a LOT of product floating around, JNAP and Toledo are running full steam and 23000 vehicles magically entered logistics in a two week period.

I will Paraphrase something Chevy told me "sitting somewhere for a week happens all the time" and though that doesn't happen to everyone it certainly happens... There are ~100 of us Diesel Freaks. It will mean one of us will see each and every single one of the 1% problems that happen. The only good thing is hopefully all of those things don't happen to the same person.

So far, NO ONE has really gotten stuck.

Throw the old schedules out... people are getting creative with how to get stuff places as quickly as possible. There was a rail car with some space that was going to take 2 extra days to get to your destination on the wrong route. The problem is it was going to be 5 days before another train left your regular origin yard and went the correct way, to an interchange that wasn't already JAMMED with rail cars.

Only about 75% of the EcoDiesels have actually shipped from the Origin Yard they were supposed to. That is low in logistics speak.
