Maybe you can try calling them to find out when they have you scheduled. The phone is 773-654-6850.
I wish you luck!
Thanks much! I'll be calling tomorrow.

Congratulatins on the new order. One thing that didn't sound right was the "awaiting VON" part. I received a VON at the same time I placed my order. If they didn't give you a VON did they really place your order? Or did you mean VIN?

Don't know it it happened but that would be a bummer if they only released one model with that engine. The more models that share that engine makes it easier to get cheap filters from US manufactures and replacement engine parts imported.

GM Dumped VM Motori (which was a very successful platform) globally in 2011, to develop their own Diesel. The Cruze Diesel is presently a GM built Diesel and they have been unable to produce even close to the numbers required. Most dealers got 1 for 2013 and many didn't get any.

GM's Diesel Ventures to this point in smaller formats have been a failure so far.

To qualify my response, I have double the GM store clients to Chrysler.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Someone posted earlier about 7 year limit on MaxCare. You can get 8 year 120,000 miles if you go with $100 deductible. This option is not available with the other deductibles.

Not to stir the pot, however, I am also still debating on the extended warranty. Am I correct that you do not have to buy this at the time of purchase and can still purchase it within your first year of ownership? This would allow us to even further delay the decision.

True, but they will not price protect the packages. If there is a price increase. It shouldn't be a big difference but adding to the conversation.

Well you can buy it anytime through your manufacture warranty but I believe the price increase is after the first year or 12k miles.

The dealer bottom line price was much better than that offered on the web. Seven years was the most offered to me--nothing about eight year plan.

I did not witness them enter it into the system, no. I have an agreement in writing on a specified build sheet with a firm price on a to be built SFU. I was advised that allocation was available and ordering would be imminent. I trust I will receive my VON in the next few days (?) with a VIN to follow thereafter (?).

You know we have truly defined the conversation when new people join the group and very seriously discuss the ordering procedure on a Skittle Farting Unicorn aka "SFU".

I mean really it has become so normal that I don't think about it much but then I read this very well written formal post and read out the acronym.... and I chuckle just a little!

Thx!

Re: 2014 diesel production

I was wondering what SFU stood for...

I've been trying to work that out in my head for a few days now.
