Note, when comparing tires, don't just compare the sizes, compare the specs of the specific tires being considered. Tires differ a bit, sometimes a fair bit between different makes/models even for the "same" size.

I like to look at the revs/mile, comparing the specs for the specific model of the OEM tire to your candidate tire -- that should give you a good idea how far off things will be.

Also, on the WJ, the could change the revs/mile setting a little bit in the computer, but not sure if that exists in the WK2 or if so what the adjustment range is.

On on the free Shell fill up from the dealer. Mines an ORA2 4WD so EPA Hwy is 28. Here's 70mph with a slight incline. I ran out of road.

I don't know the extent (if any) this has been covered in other forums, but I figured it was worth bringing up here because of the powertrain change: Do we have enough info yet to check the accuracy of the EVIC MPG calculation vs. the "by hand" calculation?

Going to have to wait till someone goes 700 miles and gets their second fill up before we have real hard numbers. Could be a week before we see this. I have a 1600 mile road trip back from Houston, so I will let you know what kind of milage I get late next week.

I've only had mine a week. I still have a half tank of fuel. I believe j pillo has had his for maybe two weeks now. I'll be tracking my mileage on a spread sheet.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I picked up my SFU this morning. I was surprised at the amount of torque the CRD has. Also, the highway passing speed was very impressive. I had it up to 95 without even realizing it. Thanks for all the insight , I used the checklist provided earlier in the thread, got a Veterans Day $500 off, and the first delivered CRD in Maryland (so I was told) .

One thing to keep in mind, the Extened Warranty from Chrysler does not allow for Lifetime with the CRD, I believe its 10 Years, 100K Miles, Max. For ($2716)

Thanks,

Icebearii

True. I would go further and say we will have to wait for people to get into the lower thousands because I have never had a diesel that didn't continue to inch up for a few thousand or so, looks like you may be among the first to truly quantify it for us.

Had mine 12 days now.
Averaging 10.4 litres/100 km and that is mostly city driving. Had a nice run on the highway yesterday. The mileage is awesome.
