I'm sure you now have more information than I, but this would not be my reaction. They're fixing issues they found. Just because an issue exists here or there, doesn't mean the whole thing is crap. Hopefully its something simple like a trim piece got damaged or fell off.

Sorry man, guess we're not as good at building cars as you.. Sometimes one rolls off the line with a couple problems, and whaddya know, it actually gets addressed before it leaves: ALLLLLL 2 of them.

Seriously though, I doubt you'd prefer if it shipped without valid inspection/corrections and consequently you wind up complaining abt QC not doing their job later?

And no, holding cars for an issue with another car, that wasn't even yours, but was a diesel, is not grounds for "lemon" status.. That's a fact. The hold was not bc of your car. But as I explained before, all cars are held when a problem was found with a car within certain QC periods. So trust me, yours wasn't the only one held. Keyword, wasn't. Past tense. The tracking doesn't reflect everything that happens in here, nor does it update as soon as things happen. Many here will attest to getting their cars early, or getting calls from the dealer when your computer says it's still a day or so out.. So use it as a reference guide. But it's certainly not a truckers road atlas.

The shop is finally done with my 78 TransAm and I'm headed to get it now. Wanna bet that means my SFU will get delivered today? Man two months without any cars and now I'll likely get two within days of each other. At least now if there are any more skittley delays I have something besides the motorcycle. Though the transam really isn't a daily driver and due to the specialty insurance I have on it should not be used as such.

Re: 2014 diesel production

For me, this timing is perfect. I have several trips to the snow planned in December, and it looks like I'll have a couple weeks to get familiar with the GC before heading out on those trips.

Jim has been carefully avoiding my questions about when the truck will be delivering our mystical creatures.

I wonder who will be the first to take plunge and properly identify their unicorn:

Not saying I know better...just saying I get extra anxious with more than one potential trouble spot in a weeks time.

But, problems that arent quickly and easily rectified have a way of lingering, so if that is the issue, i would want to know.

For example, we have a Deere tractor with a weird electrical issue that makes the tractor unstartable. the issue just went away a couple years ago and is now back. No one can seem to rectify it, including the dealer.

Trim issue or something is totally different as it is cosmetic and wont leave me stranded in BFE.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Haven't seen anyone here talk about it but Chrysler is offering a $500 bonus cash offer for Veterans who can show an honorable discharge paper and currently inactive military reserve personnel. Expires Nov. 18th. Applies to almost everything except SRT, Dart SE, Viper and a Fiat model. Hope my SFU makes it here by then.

WOOT! The only problem is I have an implementation tonight for work and do not have the time to pick up my Jeep today Think I'll head over there on my way into work though, just to get some pictures.

I understand.. Well like I said, it wasn't your car.. But what happens is the cars built between certain QC checkpoints are all suspect when one of them has a problem. And basically your car was built around the same time that the one with the issue was, so it was held.. The fact that the problem car was a diesel is kinda irrelevant, bc all the cars from that bunch were held.. Remember, you may have the same build date as another member here, but the time of day is more relevant when dealing with 'hold' situations. The other hold may just be a mistake or something, bc I only know of the one. And it wasn't even a recent build. The car was actually a 100% car from a couple weeks ago.. And the issue was nothing you need be concerned about at all.. It was an isolated occcurence. But they had to check.
