* Sigh* I was concentrating on the gap of the taillights to the hatch (which is a little off, but acceptable) I hadn't noticed this, but now it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Thank you guys for pointing this out as I'm sure I would have eventually noticed. Wish I would have seen this prior to taking delivery!

It isn't a big deal... if you look at it long enough, you will realize the ones that are off have 3 minor things that line up to make it look worse. Likely the tailgate is ever so slightly out of adjustment (like a 1/16 if that) and the tail light on the body side is ever so slightly out the opposite direction. Adjusting a couple of things ever so slightly fixes the problem but really you need to realize that you would not have even noticed had we not been talking about it!

I was almost inclined to do it myself because I think to get it totally perfect, you just need to take some time with it.

Yeah, it sticks out now just because it's been pointed out but don't let it detract from your initial experience. I would contact your sales person and let them know about it and you'd like it adjusted but aren't going to make a special trip for one thing. I would forget about it until your first service visit or if you find other things you need them to look at. Overall looks very sharp and I'm so jealous of all you that are out driving your CRD's while the rest of us are just sitting here reading about it anxiously awaiting our deliveries.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Tom Ames at Koons let me know the car arrived last night. I presume that means that the others in the Jessup lot have arrived if at Koons, or will soon arrive if another nearby dealer. I have plans to pick it up next Sat so there is plenty of time to do the PDI correctly, and also to avoid the rush of others who live closer and will surely go get their cars ASAP

Looks like he wasn't mistaken. MOTS shows yours delivered to dealer, but my last update is still "departed facility" about 26 hours ago. 26 hours on a truck?!?! Now I'm beginning to wonder if they did actually damage it

Honestly can't say. The window seals probably came off the line like that, but the rest likely happened after the line. Whether it was the guys moving it around the lots in Detroit, or the mechanics adding the DEF tank or reprogramming or whatnot, or the inspectors doing their 100% inspection, or the shipping company, or the dealer removing the plastic and such, I can't say. I know the dealer didn't have it more than a couple hours before I saw it, so probably not much of it was from them.

Just out of curiosity, for things like the window seals, does that need to be done by the dealer I bought it from or can it be any dealer? I guess more accurately asked, is that something that Chrysler reimburses the service dept for (and thus can be done anywhere)? The dealer from whom I'm buying is an hour away and has more negative yelp reviews than I've seen for just about any business, whereas the dealer 5 miles away has overwhelming positive ratings. So I'm inclined to have the selling dealer do as little as possible, though I'd still like to have things addressed.

Any thoughts/advice?

Mine was at the dealer for over 24 hours before MOTS show it as being delivered. MOTS is great for the trains, but when it hits the trucks, thing run a little behind.

You can take it to any Jeep service center for repairs. I am buying mine in Houston. Irrelevant of what I find wrong, unless it is a quick fix, I will have no choice but to take delivery and drive it home. I am on a limited schedule to get there and back. I will take pictures, have them take pictures, and have them report it to their regional rep, who can then pass it along to the regional rep in Minnesota, who will pass it along to my local dealer for repair work. My local dealer was not happy that I a going to Texas to get mine, but when I assured him he will get my service work, his attitude quickly improved. Does not matter which Jeep dealer you use, as Chrysler will reimburse them for the work.

Wow, I wonder if that's just a MOTS oversight or if yours really didn't get delivered? And what about the guy at the dealer who told you they just moved it to make sure it wasn't mistaken for a non-sold vehicle?

I know it's easy for me to say since I've actually seen mine, but I wouldn't get too worried yet. Jim said yours would be ready by 3pm tomorrow so I wouldn't worry until then.

Update on mileage

Still on 1st tank, EVIC says 280 km to empty which means I should get about 1,000 km from this tank which is about 620 miles. Mix of city and highway driving, lots of stop'n'go (traffic in Toronto can be a bitch) plus a fair bit of idling because everyone wants to hear the diesel.
I'm hoping to get 700 miles out of 2nd tankful.

Re fit and finish - guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Absolutely no issues.

I think acilate's big concern was that in theory we were on the same truck and going to the same dealer yet mine showed delivered and his did not. But looking at it more closely, I see that the MOTS update for mine doesn't include the time whereas most 'delivered' updates do, so I wonder if Milous just used the fact that I visually confirmed delivery to update MOTS and the dealer/shipper still hasn't reported it, which would explain why mine shows delivered and acilate's doesn't.

I figured that would be the case for 'big repairs' but wasn't sure on the smaller things, fit and finish, etc.

Haha, no kidding! Looks like yours has hit the rail yard and they bumped your delivery day up to tomorrow. Congrats, I hope it gets in and you have a good day tomorrow picking it up!
