Tell them to give you the vehicle for 1% under invoice or you'll walk and get it somewhere else. If you don't have a deal there isn't anything forcing you to buy that particular car. It's up to you I guess if you're willing to wait for a better deal (30 days) or if you want the car right now no matter what the price.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Another option is for about $12 or $13 through Consumer Reports/TrueCar, you can get 3 quotes from local dealers to you at about 1% below invoice. According to the CR/TC pricing, that is a good deal. Better deals can be found, and others have paid up to MSRP (which is what my local dealers seem to want here in Orange County).

I tried the Consumer Reports deal a while back. The offers I got weren't all that great. No where close to 1% below invoice. Fortunately my employer belongs to the Affiliate Reward program so I was able to get the 1% deal, and when I pressed the dealer I got another 1.5% plus extended warranty at his cost.

Exactly what my dealer told me, and he said that this is a Diesel and right now Grand Cherokee's are like hot cakes and that's why they don't have any incentives on them !
Also he said today that he would get my deal package and I'm like what deal ?
This is a fifths vehicle that I'm getting from them and this guy said that it's gonna be MSRP cause I ordered it ?
Also I spend at least $40-$50K each time on a vehicle by them, but we will see on Monday what they got to say when I come to pick it up
Thx to Vtail and other members for all the help

You can always call Mark in Houston and get 5% below invoice and drive it 1000 miles home. Legend has it there are those on this forum that have done that....

Please don't bother him right now, as he's working on my order...thanks to those "legends" here.

For me, the roadtrip will be 1,541 miles plus a visit with one of my sisters who lives in the Houston area.

So does your sister know you wouldn't be visiting her if it weren't for the Jeep? :-)

I went into the dealer I wanted to work with on 10/31 - knew the SFU's were shipping, and it was the end of the month. I didn't deal with percentages, I just laid out how much I was going to pay, which worked out to 4% below Invoice. They pretty much chuckled and offered Invoice+1%. I thanked them and left. One week later, I get an email from the general manager: "Give us a challenge!". I bit, and asked for 4.5% below invoice (again, used $, not %). Figured they might lower a bit. Instead, within 20 minutes, I received "Can do. Come on in and sign". I went, and they didn't try to change a thing. The sales manager actually came over to the group of sales guys marvelling at how the GM bit at my offer and said "If you have ANY questions on that diesel, you ask this guy. He knows more than all of us combined."

Two morals here:
1) This website gives us so much ammo to go in as an educated buyer
2) It costs you nothing to ask for the moon. See how close they can get...

Happy negotiating!

Re: 2014 diesel production

I just called Dave Smith today and their opening offer was 1000 below invoice. Went ahead and put my deposit down and will pick it up next week when I get a little time. Red/brown summit. There was another they said they could trade for with the black interior, not sure on the exterior color for that one.

Re: 2014 diesel production

I picked up my white Summit diesel last night. White with brown interior. I'm so far BLOWN AWAY by the engine, testdrove the hemi some time ago and this thing blows it out of the water, the immediate torque, the sound, the smoothness... Even my wife noticed that in passenger seat.

I'll post full review in the review thread, but had no issues during inspection. Fit and finish was great, none of the misalignment issues that some other people mentioned.

Only three minor things:
- Urea tank was only half full and dealer had no Urea on hand... They ordered it and will top off
- I noticed the headlights fog a little, but I guess this is normal?
- When I crank up the sound system really loud (like all the way) there's some rattle inside the B pillar on drivers side. Dealer said they will check it and fix, but I'll wait till the oil change

Loving this thing so far

Thanks again Milous, Willx, Chevy, Marlon, etc. for all you do here!

I called the dealer and they told me the Jeep had arrived last night. Will be going in four hours to pick it up. Thanks to the entire Jeep family excluding the Jeep executives. I'm totally excited.
