It does spool the turbo quicker with more fuel delivery. More fuel means more heat. More heat means more exhaust flow...and faster spool up. This comes with a cost. Economy suffers. Sport mode has more effect in unloading the engine and letting it rev. I think eco mode holds a higher gear and creates more lag than the turbo.

Personally, the lag is just the nature of a turbo and eco mode and is acceptable for me. Sport mode + Bluespark is a totally different beast. Its nice having both at my fingertips.

Your dealer may be out of allocation for this ordering period. Depending on a lot of factors, each trim level has a maximum allocation for the next month's production and that is broken up among the dealers; some dealers get more; some get less. And it is by trim level + engine and the "cutoff" for each occurs at different times depending on buyer behavior. The net of that is Jeep says they are going to build x number of 4x4 Ecodiesel units in the following month and whenever that number is met from a sold orders standpoint, no more orders can be officially accepted until the next month's ordering start date.

The log jam may be gone but my jeep is still sitting in Detroit since it was released on 11/02. Maybe i am the only one.

AFter some brow beating, my dealer agreed to provide a loaner car.

He said this is a new product. They have to do a lot of extra checking and that is why mine is so late????????????????

Hmmm, sounds weird. I just ordered a diesel 4x4 overland last Friday. Got a conformation email from the VOTS telling me my Jeep is "production scheduled".

I'd try another dealer if I were you.

First, thank you all for making the wait a little easier, specially MILOUS and WILLX
for the Crystal Ball inside, and all the other insiders with the valuable information.
If your Crystal Ball is any good at LOTTO, I'm listening.

I was busy in meetings all day and never received the anticipated call from the dealer, how long is it going to take for 49 miles of trucking - apparently 24 - 36 hrs around here.

Called the dealer late this afternoon and he advised there expecting late night delivery of several truckloads, with mine confirmed on one of them.

Now the sad part, I will not be able to pick it up until Thursday because I have to be in Seattle all day tomorrow.

Dealer advised he will have it ready to go and all appointments set for Thursday 10:30 AM to expedite the paper work. I asked for no test drives other then the PDI required and that every mile over 20 on the meter would cost him $100 or a no sale; he laughed and said o.k..

More to come Thursday night...........

************

Granite Limited, ORA1, LUX, Tech, Tow - soon, very soon, not soon enough.......

As A two day owner of a Summit 3.0, I say thanks to Milous and Willx for keeping me informed and semi-calm through this process! It was an adventure full of twists and turns but also a journey worth seeing to its end! Thank you for all you two do!

Chevy and Marlon, thanks for building an amazing Grand Cherokee! She is a work of art...You build them with pride and I get to drive it. The Jeep puts a smile on my face every time I fire up that diesel...It is amazing! Thank you both!!!!! and all those at JNAP. Have a great day and stay safe!

If you wanted, you could get a ScanGauge-II, which plugs into your OBD2 port. In addition to being able to scan and reset codes, and track lots of the data on the OBD2, it has a special type of trip meter which is a "performance meter" that makes it easy to check your 0-60, 1/4, 60-0, etc. times. And I'm hoping they/someone figures out the right code for reading the EGT (assuming it's available on the OBD2) because the ScanGauge can be programmed to read even non-standard data as long as you know the code for what you want to read.

Anyway, here's a blurb on the ScanGauge's performance meter:

Using Performance Monitor : Linear Logic : Home of the ScanGauge

(I have no affiliation with ScanGauge other than being a happy customer - I have one in my TransAm and really like it. I was considering getting one for my Jeep too, though it's less crucial since a lot of the data is already available in the EVIC, though it would let you get MPG over longer distances than 300mi and, as I said, I'm really hoping for the EGT code to be discovered)

If you really want to go nuts you can get a bluetooth OBDII adapter (~150 for a nice one) and if you have an Apple/Android phone, get the Torque app.

I personnally don't have it but I have been researching it a lot lately since it is universal and I don't plan on getting a programmer for the Jeep (Bluespark doesn't count)

Here's a link to the Torque Wiki page
