It may take 30 minutes or longer for the engine oil in the oil filter housing to completely drain back into the engine. The oil will only drain back into the engine through the oil pump gears. When servicing the oil filter, vehicle maintenance personnel need to be made aware that the residual oil in the housing may spill from the housing when the new filter is installed.

To prevent residual oil in the housing from spilling when the new filter is installed, either use a suction gun to remove any residual oil left in the housing or wait about 30 minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the engine.
Has anyone found a filter part number or cross-reference yet for the oil filter.

I bought the right now, and would like to keep an oil and air filter on hand...just something I like to have around the garage.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Back to OBDII devices. I use the ELM327 OBDII device with wifi. I use it with BMW specific app but it works for all Iphones-Droids that have wifi and can run GoPoint which is free interface software. Many apps out there for reading all types of data the OBDII can provide.
I plan to look into to a couple and I know many like what was posted above. If you want to know what the code means Carbonga (Iphone app) tells you that. Most just tell you here is the code and you look it up yourself...

The oil filter for the 3.0L VM Motori is a filter element and I believe this is the OEM Mopar part number 68109834AA. I found the number on the internet from what seems to be a reliable source. I would confirm if I were you with your dealer. I think these are little pricey somewhere around $30. They also come with a large O-ring that is replaced at the same time....I hope this helps

Prices should come down as the number of engines out there goes up. Pentastars have the same setup (different part).

Re: 2014 diesel production

That is expensive but every 10K miles means it isn't changed that often.
I agree with more engines hitting the market the aftermarket pricing will drive prices down and Jeep dealers that sell wholesale. 9 qts of oil too which isn't too bad compared to my Super Duty which took 15...

Agree! Just received my VON this afternoon for that color combo from the Houston dealer. Thanks to: Brainstormer for passing along Mark's #; to the JNAP crew & members here for all the excellent information on the forum!

I've been waiting for this a looong time, as have many of you, but needed to drive one first before jumping in. Did that on Veterans Day, unfortunately my local dealers wouldn't budge on pricing, so a flight and "Shannon" return road trip will be forthcoming.

Is it normal that I have an estimated delivery of 11/28 but still remain in D1 status? Is it still possible that it could make it by then our should I not hold my breath? I was hoping to plan a trip down to Virginia around the holiday to pick the SFU from Koons.

While taking delivery of my SFU the dealer said there's a shortage of panoramic sunroofs and that's causing some delays on those trim levels that offer them. Not sure if this is accurate or not but figures did let you guys know.

Awesome! Hope you enjoy it. This thing is awesome Definitely worthy of following my FSJ and ZJ. I loved those things and I'm looking forward to the next 20 years with this one too!

Similarly, my estimated delivery date is 11/30 and am in D1 status. If we do not load this week, then we will know our dates are going to change. My theory is Shannon's vehicle wore out the paint sprayers.

Where will your SFU be heading for its homeward bound journey? I was thinking Virginia wouldn't be too bad of a trip from Detroit so my fingers are crossed hoping it will be a speedy transport. Crazy thing is that I'm from Detroit, living in NYC and picking the vehicle up from Koons in Va..
