After nearly 3 days of almost no changes in any information there has been some changes this morning... Too early to say much of anything, no KZ yet, but some vehicles have reached another stage in the process closer to shipping.
To think I never demonstrated real Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) until ordering this vehicle and following this thread. Does Jeep Garage have an in-house therapist? As Shannon says, it's only beginning.

Nope, we are the Crack Dealers not the Rehab center!
BTW, your problem is going to get much, much, MUCH worse..... Wait until you see day by day rail car updates, transfers, delays in distribution yards. Up to this point has been frustrating but you will be main lining the good stuff here soon.
Then of course you guys will all get your Jeeps then disappear... No Love
Well guys, it's about time for me to fly the coop.. Shannon had me on the lookout today for any movement of what's still here, but the last update from my guy out in the yard was 'no dice.' So I guess we'll try this again tomorrow.
This has been the most frustrating process while buying a car. How does Jeep think that NOT telling the people buying their vehicles anything is a good thing?
BAH....I want my JEEP, we have waited long enough!

Honestly, I wish I could tell you everything that happened before now, but frankly... Right this second, I am not exactly sure what the delay is.
If you read back, you will note that people like Chevy are also standing there looking at the vehicles and wondering why they are not moving because as of right now, they probably should.
Yes, it probably would make that turn.
How long can we wait ?!
And my Dealer in NJ is one of the biggest in the States and still no humane answer WTF..?
Once the jeeps are finally released do you think we will ever know the truth behind the delays and all the issues?? Or will it continue to be a secret?
Apparently a different regional rep that told someone else it was a cabin noise insulation issue. Where do these people get this inverted pork rectum information?
No reading between the lines for me. Need someone to just put it out there. I order 3 weeks ago so I havent been waiting as long as most and I still have an old cherokee to drive, just sold the challenger srt8. So ill wait it out. Id just like to know the truth behind this mess
So the reps fly in, get trained/prepped for launch, then drive home. Knowing how most corporate sales channels work, they may be driving back over the weekend. We need our resident detective to tail them.
The demos will be on the lots early with the promise that inventory is currently shipping and will arrive any day. That sounds reasonable....to someone who hasn't been waiting a 9 months! :banghead:

The truth is Jeep is trying to make this a clean launch. As with most major product roll outs, there are issues to iron out, and Jeep wants to iron them out BEFORE people experience a problem. While I'm as disappointed as the next guy, they do this for a better experience once you're riding your new unicorn.
None of the delays have seemed to be as worrisome as the Cherokee "drivetrain re-calibration" debacle.
I saw a white 2014 Cherokee at the Glendale gas station about 15 miles outside of Vegas; I was very surprised because I thought they were not out yet. :slapfight: I was on my way to order mine but could not figure out which color I want; Black or Deep Auburn, plus I got tired of fussing about the lease. They always think you're stupid and it's your first car purchase at the age of 65.:lol::lol: Told my salesman I'd get back to him next week. He was the good guy, it was the floor manager that was talking crazy all of a sudden. They even stopped me after I got into my car and pulled away twice.:slapfight::lol:
Over the past 10 days, I have sent 3 emails to Mike Manley, one indicating my concern over the delays and requesting information, the second thanking Jeep for the JNAP Friends/Family, and the third yesterday pleading briefly for an explanation.
Today, I received an email from Mike Manley, CEO Jeep Brand:
Jerry,
We are on the final stages of calibration. Apologies for the delay in getting your Grand Cherokee to you, but I can assure you we are very aware of the need to get these vehicles shipped as soon as possible. I will have one of the Jeep team contact you as soon as the shipment date is firmed, which we expect in the near future. Thank you for you patience and apologies again for the delay.
Mike
While Mike did not offer any new reasons for the delay, I am impressed that he took the time to write. With perhaps a third of a billion dollars in inventory sitting in Toledo (Cherokee) and Detroit (CRD), he has much more pressing things to do than appease one CRD buyer. For that he gets my kudos.
Conversely, the PR executive handling Jeep communications should have his rectum, inverted, reamed, removed, and shipped to countries unknown with the rest of the pork rectums.
The wait is actually saving me alot of money. I decided to buy the crd so id stoping throwing money at the challenger srt8. Modding the challenger became extremly expensive and addicting plus the 100 mile/day commute wasnt very economical with a supercharged 426....with winter around the corner
Chevy's probably right, after we all get our CRDs many/most of us will quietly disappear into the diesel sunset leaving behind faded memories of skittle farting unicorns and inverted pork rectums (or perhaps those are things best forgotten??). Hopefully at least for a while, there will be mass quantities of personal reviews and experiences to keep the thread going for a while. The EV (Entertainment Value) of this thread has far exceeded the price of membership, has provided comical relief to the anxiety of the wait, and it would be great if somehow somewhere it could continue. I'm afraid I will have withdrawal of some kind without it....
I feel for you guys that have been waiting so many months. I am in the market for another SUV and own a 13 Outback which has been a terrific vehicle but I am a diesel guy at heart and sold my Super Duty last year. Owned a number of Jeeps but this new WK2 with advanced cruise control and the 3.0L diesel seems perfect but expensive.
Looked at the Audi Q5 diesel but no advanced cruise control which to me is a big deal.
Here to learn and see how this Fiat diesel treats you. Driven Fiat diesels when I was stationed in Europe and very peppy little machine...
