Hmmm... Mine doesn't have a bay location update like some of the other CRD's, but it does still say this:
Matt'sGC (Limited CRD - True Blue) Date ordered: 08/09/2013 Current Status:I D1 status date: 08/16/2013 Estimated delivery: N/A Built - Pending Inspection:(I) 09/09/2013 09:52 AM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
In Bay At Facility 09/09/2013 12:13 PM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
Does this indicate it is still in an inspection bay? The way I read it, that is what it means to me.
Shannon, where did you get that Avatar???

So here is some really cool info for anyone in the Diesel thread, it means your truck went from the finish line, through inspection and out the door in less than a few hours.... While it is not released from the Factory, just like my Signature says yours has passed the Initial inspection. Though it is technically possibly they may bring it back to do something, at this point highly unlikely. It is just waiting for Chevy to give his blessing .
I think it moved a couple of parking spaces since then but is in the same LOT.
Anyway, gotta go get some Diesels ready to ship and Sergio is on hold on the other line, so I might not be around much over the next couple of days.
Does anyone know when the production start date for the October Cycle (September Orders) is supposed to start. Also, wouldn't it make sense they would want to have released some of these by then? My guess for the October cycle to start is Monday the 30th.
So the KZ status changes I think will happen on Friday, the 27th at the latest; if they don't, I think it might point to something that is not by design...
A bunch of bad press at the beginning of this introduction would not be good. I think that "JD Power Initial Quality" thing is important to them.
Depends on when we get caught up with the current orders.. This is why ordering doesn't open on the same day each month. And also why sometimes the banks close early. We only accept so many new orders each month. And in rare cases, some months can get skipped bc of problems that slow production.
While we wait, here's an interesting article on the Chevy Cruise Diesel getting 58 mpg with an EPA Hwy rating of 46. Granted the driver drove 5mph under to gain 25% over EPA. The driver operated at the speed limit on the return trip and achieved 11% better than rated.
Based on the fact that the Cruze uses a VM 2.0 CRD designed motor with similar tech to the VM 3.0 CRD, we could possibly deliver 31 to 35 mpg Hwy in our GC's if we try.
Now for the most important question... what thread will you guys be posting on when you receive your new diesel jgc.... so I can continue to watch the romance unfold
I went through the D1's the other day and there are still quite a few ahead of us, well it's single digits but based on the number that have been built over the past month and the days between the D1 and build, I would guess we'll be lucky to see anything next week. Maybe since we're both DCR they'll follow each other down the line But there are quite a few 8/30 D1's so I'm just waiting for any of those to go, since that means mine should follow shortly. And maybe by then they'll actually be shipping...
Hey guys, new to the forum and just ordered a Diesel Summit in Granite Crystal with Grand Canyon Brown interior. My dealer told me they expect late Oct/early Nov, that sound about right? He said customer orders go to the front of the line versus regular inventory. Using a USAA certificate, came to about 3% under invoice. That fairly decent?
Sounds like a fairly decent price no doubt, people have got better but that is better than most I think. Better than me anyway. Your date sounds plausible. Once you get your 2nd email from Jeep you can get an estimated delivery date. Read around in here to see what we have been through over the past 8 months.
They haven't shipped a single Diesel yet, once they do, you will be able to predict better. Donate to upgrade your level to get tracking on MOTS (Milous Order Tracking System).
Congrats to kazii who finally made D1 today with a 10/14 delivery. I hope your delivery date holds true! Surely they will ship soon. The yards are filling up with CRDs.
Thanks very much. Went away for a week, had Friday off, checked my status later that day, and had good news. I was surprised at the short interval between estimated delivery and going D1.
Kaziii--interestingly, though mine isn't a CRD, I went D1 at the same time as you did and show the same 10/14 estimated delivery. I've been looking at other builds (because of the obsession) and timing the ones that end up in or go through my location (Atlanta). I don't know where you are but I have...a theory
Given that my order went PR on the same day as orders opening for October production, I'm thinking it went D1 yesterday with scheduling for build in the first week of October...you might be in the same boat scheduling-wise. In my case, without much exception, rail transport seems to always take 6-8 days to Atlanta. So, factor in - few days for the build/inspection and movement, then a couple/three days to get to the dealer once here, and I'm figuring it will begin build around 10/1 or so.
Yours might be scheduled similarly--provided the CRDs are shipping by then
Reading back through this post and even factoring in my being an engineer leaves only one conclusion--I am obsessed...
I am in New Jersey. However, it seems possible that we could be on the same shipment out. Fill up a load full then send them out together. I have head that, sometimes, being the first one in a storage area or the first one in a transfer area is not always a good thing. You go to the furthest area which makes you the last to be reloaded. I wonder how good the computers are at predicting this stuff. Either way, it is something I have no control over so, after all this time, I am used to just sitting, watching, and anticipating.
I don't think that being an engineer makes you obsessed. Just about everyone here, myself included, is obsessed at some level.
Chivv, they scanned your vehicle so they must have done something to it....moved it or something. That's the first of the inspected CRDs to get updated. Let's hope they are getting read to release them!
Got my Summit CRD build sheet from Milous. Interesting that one of the items listed is an "Overland Summit Badge". I assume that is a left over from last year and that in fact it won't have that. Also of note is that it has a front left spring, front right spring, rear left spring and rear right spring. I'm sure glad they included those things or the ride wouldn't be too good...
I noticed that the Ramp Compare Inventory time stamp was exactly 1 week to the minute of the last time stamp.
Ramp Compare Inventory 09/14/2013 05:34 AM EDT Avi - Vls Woodhaven Yard, MI
Ramp Compare Inventory 09/21/2013 05:34 AM EDT Avi - Vls Woodhaven Yard, MI
My estimated delivery date WAS 16 days ago. Wonder when the actual delivery date will occur? Looks like it will probably be the beginning of October (Like I said months back, but I was optimistic it would be sooner).
Hey guys question about the Diesel and Summit. I understand that with the Diesel in 4x4, Quadra-Drive II is standard. In the buyers guide, it lists the "hill Ascent/descent(Selec-Speed) only showing with the Off-Road Adventure Group II AND 5.7L engine. Does this mean the Diesel Summit 4x4 will not have this feature?
On hills, Hill Start Assist locks the brake for 2 seconds after you let your foot off the brake, to keep the vehicle from rolling, giving you time to apply throttle.
Hill Ascent controls the vehicle speed on inclines without the need for throttle or brake pedals. With Selec-Speed you can set the speed in variable increments via the paddle controls.

Just further on the HAC versus the HDC, if you read the 2014 Australian brochure, within the main body of it, if you read pages marked Terrain Traction Management and the Select-Speed blurb that accompanies that on the right, you would assume that at least with the Limited and Overland models you will get both included (particularly if you choose the Diesel option), if you option up to ORAII pack.
However, that is not the case because when you read the fine print (that is only apparent when you read the little tear-off Buyers Guide spec booklet at the back), it states that HAC is only available with ORAII if you have chosen the 5.7L/V8 to be your poison.
Misleading to say the least in the main body of the brochure. Mind you, the little picture on your centre console button tells the story (a picture is after all worth more than a 1000 words).
On our Overland the picture on the button is a vehicle pointed downwards. Clearly we only have HDC. On those vehicles that have both, the vehicle is horizontal.
Wahoo!!! Got my email from VOTS saying I made it to trim and when I log into to express my excitement, I get an extra surprise here from Willx saying I'm all the way to inspection!
:w00t:
Been waiting for this thing for almost 2 years. So close now . Hopefully it doesn't have to sit in "the yard" for too long and we all get shipped!
