They have it down from 2000 coats to just a few. Had a hard time getting mine out the door - had to enlarge them.

Willx,

Don't want to be a pest with my inquiries, but I have to ask: Is the following pattern typical?

Staged For Shipment 10/29/2013 03:50 PM EDT Avi - Vls Charlevoix Yard, MI
In Bay At Facility 11/01/2013 06:41 PM EDT Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI
Departed Facility 11/03/2013 10:41 AM EST Avi - Vls Charlevoix Yard, MI
In Bay At Facility 11/03/2013 07:39 PM EST Detroit Jefferson Assembly, MI

How can I end up in bay at Jefferson, presumably to catch a train, then end up departing Charlevoix two days later for Jefferson? Is it musical chairs?

Last I knew there were trains that have routes to Oregon (e.g., Union Pacific and BN&SF). At this rate, looks to me like we'll miss the estimated delivery date--again. Oh well.

Like many other instead of actually working I obsessively refresh this and the order status page. I just looked at my dealers website, koons in Tysons corner va. Looks like they have 13 sfu in transit including mine. So...who else in here is heading to Tysons the minute they arrive?

Well my Jeep was supposed to be at dealer by 6 today but I am guessing no news is bad news via MOTS... If it wasn't gone as of the 3:20PM update then there's no way a semi could drive it to Columbus by 6.... Maybe tomorrow I guess?

Thanks willx!
The first day I couldn't keep tabs on the forum and I get movement. Hoping this means I am on a truck in route to me dealer! I will be in the same situation tomorrow, hoping everyone sees a lot of movement, but if I get mine this week it will be prepared to answer question, and send pics.

Day 9 since papered and still stuck at the plant. :(

Congrats to all you folks who escaped the JNAP tractor beam, but misery loves company and this thread is starting to get a bit lonely, sigh...

Well, wife is happy - decision made and money officially put down on new SFU (Summit 4x4 Diesel, Cashmere Pearl with Brown interior)!

This is one our local dealer already had on order, so I'm being told that it will ship this week (being built today/tomorrow). As soon as I know it is official, I'll get my VIN and info to Milous!

While I did short-circuit the process a bit (by not ordering and waiting forever like everyone else) the wife and I have been zeroed in on the GJC diesel since mid August - just had to get other financing issues out of the way (refi house, etc).

Now the obsession deepens...!

That will be a sharp color combo. I almost did the same but in the end decided I really wanted the Cherry Red. Either will be fabulous.

It might be a little early for this question.
For those who work for Jeep and all of you who dealt with dealers, is the diesel perceived as a success?

I'm hoping it is, because I want to see it in a Wrangler.
Yes it is.. Which is the key reason why it was made available here at home. The emissions systems for NAFTA have been in testing since back before the '14 gas pilots even rolled out last summer/fall. It's certainly not a new project.

As for the Wrangler, there's some interesting things in the works there, I'm sure you'll be happy with. :)

What can we expect for milage on delivery of our SFU's? My dealer made a comment about people in the dealership wanting to drive it around since they've never had one. Hope thats not true!
7-12 Miles.

I agreed to allow the dealer to show mine on arrival as it was the only one that they will have for about another month. Normally Dealers would NEVER let people test drive a sold vehicle, the risks are astronomical for them. They would be really stupid to do anything without your permission.

Willx/Milous,

Just out of curiosity - I think Acilate and I are the first JG CRDs to go to northern CA and it looks like damcb would be the first JG CRD in socal - are we going to be the first in CA or are there non-JG CRDs ahead of us?

If it's not easy to figure out, don't bother. Just wondering.

And I was wondering...since all were ordered at the same time, but your and Acilate's Unicorns were last seen in Cheyenne and mine is still in Detroit...if we all got together sometime with our new rigs would mine be "the new one" while yours are the "old ones"
