2014 Eco Diesel Tranny Overheat

Hi All,

Just seeing if anyone else has run into this one.

Got a warning (not a CEL) pop up on dash saying the transmission was overheating. Light went off after coasting and taking it easy (was less than 1 mile from home at the time). Checked the tranny temp through the cluster options and it read only 190. Parked it and got an unmistakable burning coolant smell as soon as I opened the door. So I popped the hood and the coolant reservoir pressure relief had sprayed some coolant in the engine bay. Not a ridiculous amount, but concerning for sure.

Would the most recent TSB flash for the TCM fix this? I called a few dealerships trying to get the quickest appointment and the soonest I could get was December 24. Of course no loaner cause I don't have the extended warranty, so I'm without a vehicle until then. Fun stuff.

Update:

Called a few dealerships in the Denver area and earliest I can get in December 24. One was scheduling for January 4 and the other February 4. Guess I should have been a transmission specialist for Jeep, these guys must be making crazy rates for how in demand they are.

Contacted FCA to voice my displeasure with how long the wait is and to see if they would pony up for a rental/loaner in the mean time. All I got was sorry for the inconvenience and we can't authorize a rental until it has been diagnosed as a warranty repair.
