On a positive note - I think it's going to be a few more months before they begin production and it seems they are delaying until they work out the bugs, just as you suggest. Another post mentioned that a new scr catalyst is in the works as of Dec 1st and his vehicle is in the shop until then - Jeep won't repair his car with the old model. I'm only just learning about the Ecodiesel from this forum but it seems this new scr may fix some problems a lot of folks have been having. Those of us waiting in line have the luxury of watching to see what happens without having any real skin in the game yet.
I concur, but the wait is frustrating. I selfishly hope that they are putting these new SCR catalysts on all of the new diesels on the line right now and the Dec 1 date is when they expect to have them in the supply chain for parts replacements. To me that sounds like corporate thinking. They would rather crap on the customers that have already laid out ~$50K for their vehicles than risk losing you and I.
No offense to all the '14 owners. I know I'll be in your shoes soon enough (and get crapped on).
