Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

The 320 miles I was able to drive mine before the transmission cooler line failed due to improper assembly were great. 28mpg average at 74MPH, great diesel torque, the ACC worked perfectly and no climate control issues like some have reported.

But now it's at the dealer awaiting disposition. Chrysler "special cases" case manager is supposed to call me Monday.

Don't see what it is you are complaining about

That's my point. No issues so far. Nothing major to complain about. I also realize you had to pay a lot more to buy your jeep than I did.

Well, in Sweden they are paying about US$8 per gallon (14 SEK per liter)!

Yesterday near San Francisco I paid $4.09 / gallon.

Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

This really sums up my experience to date with my Black Forest Green chamelion like GC Ecodiesel. I have long owned Mercedes diesels and this motor is great, tranny great. Have not had it out baja-ing yet but plan to put into a few river bottoms with my canoe this summer with the help of the GC . Agree with all of the assessments of Mazter43 , thanks for writing them up so clearly so that I can just thumbs up them. The engine is a little louder at idle than my MB GL320 BlueTec diesel but on the road the same. have not gotten to 30mpg on the road yet at 1000 miles on speedo. great ride compared to my old jeep cherokees, i love this new car.

Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

Many thousands have been sold, and I have heard of only a handful of issues, and those have been very isolated. Most of us with SFU's have had no problems. I love my Jeep.

Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

Just picked up my JGC Overland last week and took it on a long road trip this weekend. Really love the ride and the diesel power - everything performed flawlessly. I had no issues with anything. I was very pleased with the Adaptive Cruise Control (much better system than in my Lexus) and the Uconnect system. I have never owned a diesel before and I have to say I love the torque and the feel of the engine. Power is in the right place for normal driving and navigating through hilly terrain is effortless with very little downshifting or big increases in the RPM of the engine. Really a great highway car. As long as everything continues to work as it is now I a more than pleased.

Just hit 1,900 mi on my diesel. Shows 67% of oil life is present. So I should get 6,000+ on this oil change. Happy with everything about the diesel. Rear cross-traffic avoidance worked well this weekend in Big Bear. Enjoy the rest of the weekend all.

Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

G'day from Brisbane, Australia.
Picked up my new White Laredo 3 litre diesel on Friday morning.
It was built in January 2014, Australian compliance plate March 2014.

Condition at delivery was perfect. Panel fit and everything else, flawless!
Dealer fitted towbar package, and aluminium 'roo bar.

With a family wedding to attend, we did over 400 kilometres over the three days, in everything from heavy stop start traffic, to freeway driving at 115 kph (70 mph), and a winding country road with long sweeping bends, and some much tighter bends, in dry weather, then drizzle, and some heavy rain yesterday. (Auto wipers got a good workout, and worked a treat! I couldn't fault them.)
About half of the mileage was with five adults in the car.

Result: I am in love with this car. From first pairing my iPhone at the dealers, to parking in our garage back at home late last night, everything worked flawlessly, a total delight to drive.
Engine is superb, and the ZF 8 speed gearbox absolutely bloody brilliant.

Fuel economy over the 400 klms of varied driving was 7.85 litres per hundred klms (about 30 miles per US Gallon), excellent given the conditions, and I know it will get better as the engine is run in. I was NOT driving for economy, varying the speed and gears to get a good run in.
(I did notice the fuel consumption rise for a little while by about 30%, whilst freeway driving. I'm pretty sure it was doing a DPF clean, though there were no messages.)
I can honestly rate this car as 10/10 at this point!
I could not possibly be happier!
We will be clocking up more kilometres before towing our 2.8 Tonne caravan next month. That will be the next test, though given the performance thus far, I'm expecting it to go equally well.

Re: 2014 GC "EcoDiesel" OWNERS!!! Review..

2014 Grand Cherokee, 3 litre diesel, very happy with engine , done 5000 kms so far. On highway get down to 7.2 litres fuel to 100km, same as my 3.5 litre Toyota car.
Overall impression- excellent vehicle, comfortable, easy to drive only gripe is knocking/rattle noise from rear shocks which the dealer says will be fixed.
