2014 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (Reality)

I should have shared this over a year ago, but I am finally getting around to it. When I first saw the concept "Trailhawk" pictures and videos early last year, I thought that would be cool to have. So I traded in my heavily modified XJ for a new 2014 Diesel Grand Cherokee. It started out with 2 miles on the odometer and a few months later, it was finished. Here are a few pictures of the progression. Enjoy!

Looks great, I'm working on the same kind of build. How do you plan to black out the trim? I've dipped most of mine so far to see how it looks.

Are those the Rockstar2 rims? They sure look close to them if not.

I was going to black out the chrome, but it's starting to grow on me. It actually looks really nice. I would have preferred all white, but the Jeep package I wanted didn't come that way.

The wheels are Rockstar2 18" x 9" with 33" x 12:50 MT MTZ tires. It even sports a full size spare in the spare compartment. The only thing is the spare is a 10:50 to get the deck lid to fit. I painted the front grill black to make the LED light bar pop off the front.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (Reality)

Is that a winch built into the front bumper?

How difficult was it to get the grill out?

I am guessing if you are running 33's you don't have QuadraLift? :-)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (Reality)

This was the concept for the MY14 trailhawk:

I was inspired by this too. I went for a diesel Limited with QL/ORA2, added mopar 18 inch black rims and cooper STMaxx 32 inch rubber.

Something I'm struggling with still is the approach with the front airdam. The concept uses a cut back SRT fascia, I'm looking at getting something fabricated up a bit like the RRO pre runner. Zybane used this in his arctic build.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (Reality)

Yeah, the front bumper would be sweet if one was available.

Those trying to replicate the '14 Trailhawk are you planning on doing the SRT hood as well? If I do, it'll be the last thing I do.

I also like the Trail Warrior concept, but dang that Trailhawk is sweet. So wish that orange was available too.

Yes, that's a Warn 12,000# winch. The bumper and grill come off as one assembly. Not too bad, just need to be careful.

No I don't have QuatraLift. I would not even attempt to try and lift one with it. Won't work.

The front bumper is a modified SRT bumper. On mine, I cut everything from the air dam down off. Personally, I cannot justify the cost to put an SRT hood on. No need other than looks.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (Reality)

You'll love the MPG off roading with the diesel. Another member went on a long trip with a friend who had a 4Runner. He got 22-23 MPG off roading and the 4Runner 11-12 MPG. They both had fuel cans and he didn't even have to use his.
