Chrysler/Jeep has a case open on my vehicle and it has been deemed inoperable.
The coolant/oil mixture both in the crankcase and cooling system have been diagnosed as a bad engine oil cooler. The ETA on the new part is November 3, 2014.
They have assured me that they will do a compression test on the engine, show me the results and also do every possible transmission/software update possible.
In the meantime, the have given me a 2015 base Cherokee to drive with the 2.4L inline 4 Cyl.. This vehicle has the 9sp. transmission and if you think our transmissions have problems, the 9sp. can't make up its mind what gear it should be in about 70% of the time. The down shifting when coming to a stop is pretty unsettling as well.
I am convinced that the current line-up of new or refreshed Jeeps were released too soon. Either that, or there was a serious defect in the guts of the transmissions when manufactured for certain VIN #'s.
I will keep you posted on this situation, but I have a feeling this truck won't be with me much longer.
Sad, because it is such a beatiful vehicle.
