2014 Overland key FOB replacement

My girlfriend has been pulling some seriously long hours at the hospital so I decided to do something nice and get us a "staycation" at a chillaxing hotel. Took an UBER there then home a couple days later and for the life of me am unable to find my key FOB. Came home and found my replacement but I really think it fell out of my bag in one of the UBERS. I've made the calls but no luck.

What are my options for replacing that FOB. Please, dear Lord, please tell me there is another option besides the $300 online key FOB.

Prior to this jeep I had a silverado that so long as you had one of the originals you could buy a blank then go through a process in the vehicle that would take the data off your current key and clone it to the replacement. I've seen some on Ebay going for $50 and was wondering if there is a known process to do this too. I've been doing some searches and coming across other forums but the info seems to be potentially old. Anyone been through this process that didn't spend $500 taking it to a dealer?

Re: 2014 Overland key FOB replacement

I found an OEM replacement on Amazon. See:
http://www.amazon.com/Keyless-Entry-...r_1_15&sr=8-15

The local dealer quotes for programming varied from $45 to $120. They would not guarantee "an online FOB" would work. I did it anyway and went to the $45 dealer. The programmed the FOB and cut the key. It took about 15 minutes. Total cost for the fob and programming with tax was about $135. Not great, but much less than $300.

If you have the extended warranty, it includes fob replacement.

Consider yourself lucky; you got off lightly my friend.
FCA Australia are charging $700 -$800 for a fob replacement.
Unfortunately there's no A/M alternative at the moment.
