My dealer called Jeep right in front of me a couple days ago. Asked what's going on and the guy said it was an emissions approval thing.

All i know is I'm frustrated and my Jeep had better be built on the 17th like they told me. I'll most likely cancel if it's not. Tired of being lied to and waiting.

You can go here: Advanced Search | Document Index System | US EPA and do a search. The results are per model year per model per engine. So if you do a 2014 search you can find the 3.0 engine.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Hi everyone, I ordered my jeep on Oct 14. My dealer told me I'm still at gatelined scheduled (D1). All parts are available for the build but nothing seems to be advancing.
How are you all finding out about your status? The VOTS system seems to be down.
Mine was supposed to be delivered Nov 22. Well the dealer told me it should be completed by 12/1. Don't have any confidence. I wish they would tell us what is going on. Mike

You can become a pay member of this site, which gives you access to a VIP area that includes vehicle order tracking. Lots of info in the sticky on the main WK2 board.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Does anyone have any info on how to compare the predicted price of diesel with the predicted price of gasoline? I suspect it varies quite a bit due to state taxes, which are very high here in California.

Thanks.

Diesel averages about 30 cents more a gallon here in TX. I've also noticed it tends to trail gas in price fluctuation.

Before I ordered my CRD I did an informal comparison of prices. Diesel averaged about 10% more than regular when the average price of regular was around $3.50, and the CRD gets about 20% better mileage. Good so far! Now that gas (in my area) is down to around $3.00/gallon, diesel is still $3.59 to $3.99. Not so good now.

If you are correct that the price of diesel lags gas, and will return to about the same percentage differential, then that's good. I guess we'll see.

For what it's worth, here's an interesting paper I found comparing 3 and 5 year costs of ownership of gas vs diesel models of the same vehicle. It's fairly current and quite intersting, if a little long.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

And just like that, I haven't seen one since.

No clue what the heck is going on?

I'll report when I see some more. Looks like my PM inbox is full, I'm about to dump my messages, and I need everyone waiting, to PM me their last 8 of the VIN, and I'll try to see what's going up on Saturday. Production for this month is going to be lower than normal due to a few holidays.

There *is* a capacity issue at the VMMotori plant that makes the engines. The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel took way off... to the point that 20% of their build are EcoDiesels.

Them taking all of the engines probably has a LOT to do with the delays on the Jeep.

(But trust me, if there were a transmission shortage, we would run and shut them down entirely...)

Plik, do I know you from another forum?

Some stations are still trying to get 3.59 a gallon, but overall I'm seeing the prices finally drop.. Houston Gas Prices - Find Cheap Diesel Prices in Texas

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I am working with the Sales Manager at the dealer (acquaintances). He e-mailed me today and said I went D1 on the 10th. Milous's update does not indicate this as of this morning...where is the discrepancy?
