Re: 2015 Deliveries?

My dealer is clueless on the entire order process. They are refusing to refund my deposit now, but can't tell me anything other than it's D1 and they've fast tracked my order.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

This seems to be a fairly straight forward failure to perform contract issue. If they were actually producing CRD's or could give an actual delivery date I think it would be different. But the order is in limbo.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

There is no contract on a deposit. It is fully refundable.

"Fast track" your order? Now that's funny. It is simply amazing the bullshit that comes out of car salesmen's mouths.

Actually there is such a thing - in two ways. Orders marked as "sold" are given some priority. They can also be "Hot tagged" which gives a bit more priority for various things. It's very possible the order was hot tagged -- but if production hasn't started it won't matter until such time that it has started.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Correct, ordered cars do get priority. I worked in the auto sales business and my best friend owns a Honda and Jeep dealership..."hot tagged" is not something you are going to get simply because you want your car earlier than others.
BLUF...his dealer is sunshine pumping him.

To JSNMR2: What is a 2 year Maintenance package? Isn't really just 2 oil changes.I heard there isn't a lot of maintenance requirements on the Jeep Diesel. Can you shed any light.
If mine gets delayed any longer I may ask for that.

I called today and spoke with a young man who was clueless about the issues specific to CRD and paint, but took all my info and will research and call me back. I'm very tempted to buy a V6 off the lot and be done with it. I'd love to have the diesel but I've learned on this forum that if I'm not towing and don't need the torque the diesel may not be that much of an advantage for me anyway. Not to mention the extra concerns of DEF, fuel gelling in the cold, etc.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Play golf: the only reason I ordered the diesel is it will do what my expedition did (towing) and will get the gas mileage of my wife's 99 Toyota avalon. If I didn't need to tow or haul much the difference in gas mileage between the diesel and the Panstar V^ isn'r really that much when you consider the 4000-4500 cost for the diesel. You could load your V6 up pretty much with the extra 4k. Food for thought. Mike

A quick search of local inventory around my area (Central California) shows lots of Overland V-6's in the color I want (Deep Cherry Red) at about the same cost as the Limited with the diesel. Of course I added on the bells and whistles that come pretty much standard with the Overland. So I think you're right. The one thing I really don't need is the air suspension and it's one more thing to go bad - but don't know if that 's an issue or not.

Not sure everything that it includes. I asked the dealership what it was worth and if I remember correctly it's cost was around $340 list price.
