I considered this also. I think I've read that the standard V6 in these things are not the most reliable motor ever? Anyone shed any light?

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Asked dealer if I could speak directly to their "rep", was told they don't allow that and that I should call customer service line. I did.

"all diesel GC's are currently waiting for government paperwork before they can be built. Expecting this in the mid to late December time frame, all back log of diesels will be built immediately and should be mid to late January dealer delivery. We are advising that dealerships cancel orders if customers wish. If dealer GM will not let you cancel, call us back."

I asked for that to be sent to me in an email.. Waiting for it to get here...

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I think what bothers me the most about this is that Jeep opened up the orders knowing that they were not in a position to build any of them. They've let their customers sit in the dark wondering for months when they knew all along the trucks weren't going to be built any time soon. That's pretty deceptive and fraudulent in my book.

I don't understand GC diesel 2014 was built and sold but 2015 model needs a new paperwork?

I'm guessing they modified the DEF or other emissions equipment to fix a chronic or design problem. They haven't said that because they would be admitting to a design flaw and would need to take care of 2014 owners. So instead they tried to slide it in unnoticed.

In addition to Patches comments, remember they are also closing down the factory 3 weeks to update the paint facility.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I own a heating and ac company and I was at a Chrysler dealership today fixing the heat. I asked the GM if he knew of anything that was going on. He straight out told me that since they redid the DEF and cats on the 15's they would need the EPA to re-certify them. That about sounds right but who exactly knows. He also knew about them dropping certain colors due to them getting ready to paint more complex colors next year.

We can only wait.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Whelp.. Ordered my 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie diesel today and cancelled the JGC. My dealer will be keeping the Jeep order for inventory. Will be funny to see if the truck arrives before the Jeep does. Would not surprise me at all.
