Not sure... I know that 2015 Ram's with diesels are built and out on the road already though. Just couldn't locate one exactly how I wanted it, so I ordered it. To be honest I actually like the interior of the Ram better.. Same air suspension available, same trans, same motor, same UConnect system. I went with standard coil suspension so I can do a small lift though.

The dealer showed me some sold orders of theirs because of my concerns on waiting. They had a Laramie EcoDiesel ordered 10.16 and it is currently in transit, scheduled to arrive 12.04 at the dealer.

Gotta believe the previous stories that included manager statements related to JGC holdups due to emissions issues to be untrue. Chrysler still not communicating honestly with a very large group of customers.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I spoke with the vice president of jeep tonight. He told me that, after reading skunkd's posts, he had decided that no one in the entire world needs a diesel grand cherokee. He is taking it upon himself to make sure none of us waste our hard earned money on such a useless vehicle.

I agree its a beautiful truck congrats. Less expensive than the gc too. Its the bigger physical size driving around the city and less interior space that leans me to the gc.

It would be nice that they put out a diesel promo for the wait or do a hemi promo if this continues....

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

In going to need to get ugly with my dealer. They are still refusing to return my deposit. Jeep has lost a good long time customer. I don't care how good the diesel GC looks on paper. It doesn't exist, and I'd rather buy from a company that doesn't mislead customers.

I felt the same way a few weeks ago. My wife and I went out and test drove several competitors' vehicles. We arrived at the conclusion, though, that nobody else offers the level of features and capability AND bang for the buck as Jeep does with the Grand.

Yes, I'm still bitter for being strung along with the as yet unfulfilled promise of a '15 diesel Limited. But the fact that the V6 Overland we bought Wednesday is just so damn nice has started to overcome that bitterness. Hopefully this isn't just a honeymoon phase. 300 flawless miles so far (LOL). Only problem so far is it seems to be equipped with a bird $4!t magnet.

I agree. When we signed the trade in and factory order contract back in October, we were told that it would take 8 to 12 weeks before they receive the car.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

For what it's worth, I just took the post purchase survey and then sent the following e-mail to the address provided at the end:

**********************

Hello,

I just completed my post-purchase survey, and was surprised to find no comment section. I was 100% satisfied with my experience at Koons Jeep in Virginia. My gripe is that I and many others who have/had diesel Grand Cherokees on order feel like we've been strung along and kept in the dark. I had been anticipating owning a diesel Grand Cherokee since the first rumors of their release in late 2012 / early 2013. I monitored internet owners' forums as the 2014 diesel release was repeatedly delayed and some who had ordered lost patience. I felt sorry for those customers, but though surely it wouldn't happen again for '15. I was in a position to wait, since I was returning from an overseas military assignment this past summer. I was ready to pick up a diesel '14 or '15 when I got back. Unfortunately I couldn't find a '14 equipped as I wanted, so decided to order a '15.

However, shortly before my return, the diesels became unavailable for order. Fine, I thought, I don't really NEED a new Jeep until winter. The day the order bank for diesels opened up again, I placed my order (VON 32251777, ordered September 9th). At the time I was sure I'd have my new diesel Grand Cherokee in time for Thanksgiving and/or the year's first snowfall.

Instead, not a single 2015 diesel Grand Cherokee has been built for the North American market to date. What's worse, though, is there has been practically ZERO communication from Jeep as to the reason for the delays. I have personally spoken to customer service representatives at the "I AM JEEP" call center on two occasions. Both times I was given little information and politely put on hold for unacceptably long periods. Both times I was promised a return call with clarifications. Both times that call never came.

Jeep needs to get their act together for these customers who have committed to $50,000 purchases and do right by them. At the very least, Jeep needs to be up front, responsive to questions about delays, and honest in projecting a time for resolution. Not many customers are going to make the same choice as I have. Even I shopped other brands.

Again, to reiterate I had a great experience at my selling dealership, but my faith in the brand as a whole is shaken. I'm not alone.

Best Regards,

*************************

I sincerely doubt I'll get a response.

2015 Deliveries?

We are looking at Audi Q5s now, I don't know if we make it to Feb to just place an order. They should get that stuff off their website under the build your own and price because it's a fairy tale.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Chrysler's handling of the Jeep Ecodiesel rollout is a classic Harvard Business School case study of poor customer relations.

In early 2013 I waited 5 months to even be allowed to submit an order for the 2014 Ecodiesel. I the waited over 4 months for delivery. The dealer claimed to be as frustrated as I was with the repeated delays and no explanation from Chrysler.

We now have 25k miles on our 2014 GC Summit Ecodiesel in a wide variety of driving conditions. It's been a fantastic vehicle and better than all the competition we test drove. BUT, at 24k the Jeep spent 32 days in the shop awaiting a DEF injector that had failed, probably due to the poorly engineered low-hanging cable and tube that a great many owners found damaged by tall grass, snow, and even deep puddles. I had Chrysler installed skid plates (not standard on the Summit), but these do NOT cover the very vulnerable DEF cables in question. Chrysler dealt in an equally opaque manner with this issue. I have ordered the custom skid plate offered by a Jeep Forum poster and am confident this will solve the problem better than the Chrysler fix that simply uses zip ties to restrain, but not protect, this critical part.

Overall, I am very happy with the Jeep, but the service from the manufacturer is absolutely incompetent at best.

Does your dealer plan to keep your diesel order in place?
