Clearly DEF issues not fixed. Waiting to see if the injector is dead or what.

Wow. that SUCKS.....

Dealer called me this AM he still shows on his computer a ship date of 12/15. Maybe he means December 2015. Since mine hasn't even been built yet. I find that date hard to swallow. Does jeep build cars over the weekend? I would think they shut down alteast on Sunday....

Maybe mine not being built is a good thing....

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

What's worse is it's the wife's Jeep... and I convinced her she wanted the Jeep vs the Ford Flex she had... (aka: I wanted the Jeep) I'll be paying for this one! Thinking I'm glad I live in Florida where I can truly live in a dog house out back.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I wonder if you got the old CAT installed? When I contacted Jeep last week the associate informed me that my build was on hold pending a redesigned part, which I assumed was the CAT. Keep us posted on your DEF service.

According to Jeep mine is built pending inspection as of this morning.

Darn, that is such a bummer.

I get my vehicle on Saturday or Monday, and I get my DOM plate today. Now I feel like I need to put it on before i drive it off the dealership lot!

Man, sorry to hear the bad luck!!

Is the car nice otherwise?

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

It's amazing. My parents and brother have '14 CRDs. I love ours. My wife does to (or did until this morning!) It's been worth the wait since June 21.

Not sure which model you are getting, but the '15 Summit CRD is much quieter than the '14 Summit. Took both mine and my parents out for a spin and some acceleration and you notice the difference due to the acoustic glass and active noise cancellation (which is nice... but one more thing to break!)

Update: I should say, the '14 was still very quiet. Not 1990s Lincoln Continental luxury quiet, but not far off. Much better than the '13 Ford Flex we had and pretty much any other recent large vehicle.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Could some of you folks that have a 2014 and 2015 ECO Diesel post some positive experiences from owning one. I ordered mine on Oct 14 and I'm still waiting. You read all these issues and gees before I even get it I have to. Install DOM's Plate, make sure the DEF is toped off. Did the factory do the TSB to tie off the DEF injector harness, Tranny problems, etc. Come on, this is a brand new Vehicle. I have a 2010 Dodge Challenger RT Hemi. No issues what so ever. So did I make a mistake ordering this Jeep. I bought it to replace my 99 Expedition (for Towing) and my wife's 99 Toyota Avalon (gas mileage). I already sold my truck with the thoughts I would get the Jeep before Thanksgiving. So any positive feedback on these Jeep GC's with a Diesel would be nice. Mike

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

This is so garbage that you spend that much and right off the lot you get a error. So lame.

We bought my cousin a cherokee and when test driving it the stupid check engine light comes on hahah

I just wanted to echo what the others have already said. I feel for ya, especially once you disclosed that it was purchased for your wife. Hopefully one trip to the dealer is all that is necessary to resolve the issue. Please keep us posted.

YGBSM?
I cancelled my order three weeks ago when I was told to expect it in late January. The GM called last week to say it was built, enroute, and was still available. I haven't given him a definitive answer as it appears the DEF issue, among others, has not been resolved. I was in an X5 that was a MX nightmare and, while under warranty, was a huge pain in the ass to continually coordinate repairs.

Please let us know what the dealer says about this thing. I am buying mine for quite a distance from the home and an not certain what type of service I will get from the local dealer since they did not sell it to me. I am a perpetual optimist but this is starting to make me reconsider...not sure I want to get into something that has an issue like this. Limp mode/unable to drive due to DEF/SCR/CAT issues are serious issues when you do not live near the dealer.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

So, not fully resolved yet. Dealer said they pulled sample of fluid and it was fine. They said they were stored codes and weren't currently repeating. They had put some miles on it and were going to do more hoping for a repeat. Wasn't feeling good about how easy this would be to diagnose and was very frustrated with my choice to encourage the wife into a Jeep.

I left work early today and came home. (wife and kids at Legoland, FL - they were on the way there when the CEL Service DEF came on - so U-turn, return and swap for loaner at dealer and they headed back out)

I've never been so happy to have "fluid" on my garage floor as I was when I pulled in. A drip pattern of crystalized DEF right underneath where the injector is, along with a few drops leading out of the garage and into the drive.

Called the dealer and the tech is rechecking the injector and the connection from hose to injector. So I'm hoping that DEF pump turned on to spray some in and it was blocked/loose and it's an easy fix (assuming parts availability... fingers crossed on that front.) I always though DEF was sprayed constantly, apparently not! Either way, DEF getting sprayed, just not sprayed in, is a lot easier to track down than a code with no apparent reason.

I'll let you know what they say but I'm willing to grant some latitude for manufacturing errors... it IS an AWESOME vehicle.

And yes, I know I need to repaint the garage floor. That's been on the list for a while
