It worked, and the brand is now respected and very popular. And they still offer that warranty.

Jeep could go a very long way in addressing our concerns with this one simple offer.

Maybe we should start a campaign on Facebook or something??
I agree, a free warrenty would be a good thing. the dealer costs for the 7/60000 miler bumper to bumper is only about $600 so it would be a cheap way to reward us for waiting. Ive been waiting since July.

If they are on the line being built, then why haven't any of us moved off of D1, and how come Jeep just told me yesterday production would begin in the end of November?

Don't get me wrong - I hope you're right!

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

Anyone have an idea how long it takes from Pre-order to D1 status? I sold my 05 GC before ordering my Summit ECO and I'm using my one service van to commute my 50 mile trip each day. Id rather be commuting in my new jeep. I see some people go from d to d1.

Chris

When were the first '14 CRD's delivered last year?

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

All else being equal (parts availability, slack time in schedule, etc.) is there a priority placed on pre-sold vehicles in the build schedule versus vehicles heading to the dealer lots as available inventory?

I'm hoping the pre-sales get higher priority in the build schedule.

Yes. There is a line item in the order for "sold vehicle" that bumps its priority. From what I've heard, this minimizes unnecessary delays. Cars going into dealer inventory can be delayed with little consequence if there's a parts shortage while sold vehicles use up the in stock parts to get them out the door to the waiting customer.

I've also found that the last six of the VIN is generally a higher number for ordered vehicles. This may be due to inventory orders sitting unbuilt for a while with an assigned VIN. My first '14 that was a custom order was EC44xxxx while all the other dealer inventory GC's delivered at near the same time were EC3xxxxx.
