I've also found that the last six of the VIN is generally a higher number for ordered vehicles. This may be due to inventory orders sitting unbuilt for a while with an assigned VIN. My first '14 that was a custom order was EC44xxxx while all the other dealer inventory GC's delivered at near the same time were EC3xxxxx.
^ This. Customer (Sold) orders do get built a wee bit faster than dealer stock.

I also noticed that about the VINs not too long ago. I always wondered why 714332 would be in front of 654409 on the line.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I just typed them out as examples, just to make a point.

I did see 70XXXX behind 606XXX a few days ago though. That one should have been built months ago.

I figured as much, Marlon. I'm just getting bitter. Thank you for doing what you do, though!

Marlon, thanks a ton for the "inside look" into the Jefferson plant. As you probably already know, there are quite a few of us sitting on the sidelines waiting for our new 2015 CRD orders to get manufactured.

According to MOTS and Milous' list, there are 21 vehicles that we can collectively track, the first one is to be delivered on 11/18.

Based on what you're seeing in the factory, are there CRDs actively being manufactured?

What's the relative mix of CRDs to conventional engines these days?

Any kind of specific insight you could give as to what's actually going on would be awesome.

I for one was told by my dealer that I'd have mine before the Thanksgiving holiday which would give me a good way to take my family down to North Carolina to spend the holiday with family (and break in the engine on the interstates as well). The JGC's availability even got us to hold back on buying flights down there. My VIN's last 6 are 683644. It's labelled as "sold" and he also said it was "hot tagged" (whatever that means). I want to know whether I should start making alternative plans.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I've got similar concerns. Although it sounds/like or appears that Diesels are coming down the line, nobody that I can tell is advancing on the list.

I'm speculating that the 11/17 build is more likely at this point, or that we're still actually waiting for the December start of CRDs.

Has anyone checked the EPA site to see if the 2015 JGC EcoDiesel has been approved yet? I know I haven't (and won't have a chance to do so for another couple of days...am involved with a server swap in the office).

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

The 11/18 projection is mine. At this point, I'll be amazed if it makes it here by then. Typically from what I've seen, transit time from Detroit to DC is at least 8 days. C'est la vie...

I don't think you can put any stock at all in what the dealers are saying. They simply don't have any idea. Believe me, those of us on this forum paying attention to the ecodiesel issues know far more than the showroom. Case in point - a few weeks ago I called my dealer (salesman to be precise) and told him I was having doubts about taking delivery of my car due to the issues I've been reading about, and forwarded him some of the TSB's being discussed on this forum. He basically said "Well you idiot, all of the TSBs are for diesels built before July - there haven't been any issues since then." To which I replied, "Well that's nice to know - especially since they haven't built any since then. IDIOT!" It is truly something that FCA needs to address. Keeping us in the dark is NOT helpful, and only increases our doubts and discontent.

Any members in Central California (Fresno area) have any really good or bad experiences with any particular dealers?

ALL of the CRDs appear to still be stuck in D1, or pre-release. If they actually are heading down the line wouldn't we have noticed at least a few changing status?

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

I do not how many GC go down the line a day, but statistically speaking, if they were making diesels for the US market, and they make sold vehicles a priority, we'd be seeing some movement in the list.

The rumor of mid- to late November or even December still is in front of us. Nobody has gotten a newly designed CAT installed either.

There's still some boxes that need to be checked, it seems.

Re: 2015 Deliveries?

When did the 14's start coming off the production line? November, December?
