I'm a lawyer - but nothing in my post hinted at going to "lawyer up" that I can glean. Lawyers are like WMDs - once you use them they screw everything up.

I just noted my much better success in a faster fashion when I deal with large companies like Comcast or FCA by using Twitter. The company now has a public complaint and they have people who work social media (even read these forums). Calling the 800 # puts you in the queue with everyone else who may have a problem - it's private and unfortunately in my experience takes more time to get to talk to a real person.

Re: 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee blew engine 20k

They read this forum and the other WK2 forum too and see these issues. However they are not on this forum (excluding the guys from the factory that are very helpful) to be helpful but to look for trends and also noting who is modding their Jeeps. I noted this behavior by BMW and it has burned a few forum members there that modded their cars then took their ride in for warranty work. Denied. Be careful posting what you are doing this isn't Twitter where there is a huge following...

It took me a full day to stop laughing when I read this.

My "Customer Service Escalation Rep, Tommy," could barely complete sentences. Seriously. He once called ME to see if I had gotten any updates from my Service Advisor. And he was the "brightest bulb" I spoke with in my relatively short-lived interactions with them. I'm pretty sure the people they hire to handle their most serious and complicated Customer Service issues were all deemed unemployable by most fast food restaurant standards.

So, you'll have to forgive me if I find it just a bit of a stretch to believe that "they" are trolling this (or any other) forum, decoding user id's and matching them up to VIN's only to potentially deny future warranty claims.

But thanks for the belly laugh.

Lmao. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the same thing. They were barely able to keep up when i had issues. I'd be blown away if they had the time to get on here and link up usernames on a forum to actual vehicles lolol

Re: 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee blew engine 20k

Point of fact these reps you talked to are not the ones doing media search. They are very sharp people (usually) and are looking to spot problems and implement solutions good for FCA not you.

Believe what you want but these people are trained to locate members of forums and are good at proving deny of warranty claims. Don't believe me? Head over to any of the BMW forums and put in deny of warranty. You will find members there that had warranty claims denied after modding their ride.

In the case of a blown engine this team isn't going to do much but read how it goes as there was no subterfuge regarding this happening. The car companies are not the fools you think they are and again the ones you have been talking to are not the media specialists.

If I were a manager in quality control or engineering at FCA I would consider a heavily traveled vehicle specific site like this a gold mine for assisting to early identify new vehicles issue in real world driving. If they don't have people just reviewing these sites for that purpose then they are idiots.

But if they employee people to spend time trying to link warranty denials to screen names to maybe catch a hand full of people then this company has got serious management and priority problems. I suppose people who photo graph their tags and vins and and talk about their mods throw it out there for the world and would make it easy though lol

Ok. I don't have the time or the interest to debate this any further. I'm just grateful we live in a country where Caligula can run for President and you can believe whatever you want.

A very happy 4th to you.

Re: 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee blew engine 20k

Actually, I found my FCA rep to be very helpful. She let me know when they ordered the engine, and when it arrived at the dealership (last Tuesday 6/28). The service rep at the dealership, not so much. It took me well over a week of calling to get him to return my phone call, and then only when I had the receptionist give him a written message on Wednesday 6/29. He then told me that they ordered a new motor, and it would arrive Wednesday the 7/6. I told him, no it arrived yesterday, he then said that it wouldn't be done until Wednesday, because changing a motor is a two to three day job. I told him, no FCA tells me it is a one day job. He then said it wouldn't be ready until Wednesday, because that's when it will be ready.
Pat, the FCA CS rep. is not happy, because they don't return her calls either, so she complained to the regional management, but that didn't do any good. Will it be done on Wednesday?; well I'm not holding my breath.
Hoping for Wednesday,
Bob.

Shame I didn't have somebody like Pat working on my case. The best I got from them was that it would take three weeks to a month to order the engine which they already told me was 90 days backordered. By that calculus I wasn't expecting to see my rig back until mid October. Suffice to say I'm already almost three months into this and I'm going to get my repurchase agreement resolved before the repairs are complete.

Re: 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee blew engine 20k

The saga continues. Well last Wednesday I get a call from the service rep. that somehow between the motor blowing up and them removing the engine the torque converter was damaged. There are no converters available, so it's now on high priority back order. No ETA.
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all!
Bob.

I'd be suspicious. But then that's my nature. The only question you have to answer now is how long is your fuse?

Re: 2015 Jeep grand Cherokee blew engine 20k

So It's finally over. I picked up my Jeep today. All better. I attached the report from the dealership. Apparently, the motor blew a rod.
The good: They fixed everything at no cost and no argument.
The Bad: I have no idea why they even have a phone for the service department, they never answered it once. I had to go through the main dealer number. That didn't do anything either, but they also didn't answer the phone for FCA, and I think that brought a change. At least the last few times I called the receptionist, I did get status information. It was wrong, but at least I got an answer.
Bob.
