Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Thanks for thinking of me.
Nope, we're still in the rental. We have a case open with FCA.
Dealer is in contact with Tech support but no fix so far. BCM was replaced Monday and
that didn't do it. I think there's a short somewhere.
Customer Care tell me they will cover rental cost so no worries there.
Just not sure how long they'll stretch this out. I'm thinking about this time next week
I'll start pushing them to build me another one. Cause truthfully I'm not thinking they're gonna figure this out.

Unreal. Hopefully they get you fixed up soon. Otherwise don't blame you to build a case for a replacement. between the long build delay and this issue it certainly should help your case.

Not to sound like a bear but getting a new one out of chrysler is next to impossible. (Speaking from experience) your dealer is the only interface pretty much as chrysler canada could not give a sh@t less about you. If the dealer is willing to take the loss you're good otherwise enjoy the ride when it's fixed.

Chrysler Canada is an entirely different company from US counterpart and not so big on customer service.

Anything is possible but keep up the pressure....

Update Wed May 27...
Called dealer today for update. Tells, me car is ready to go!
Apparently there is a connector goes into the side of the transmission.
Seems it was not fully engaged and over the week I drove it, somehow worked its way
loose. Crazy stuff! I actually did read about this happened to another JGC in Ozzyland.
So back to the city tomorrow to return rental and get "Max" back.
Last stage will be to get reimbursement from FCA for rental.
Dealer will be filing a log with FCA on this so it can be an area to check for any similar issues that other owners may experience. Likely it should be a part of the PDI seeing as it came from production like this with loose connectors.
Now I can move ahead and get my Rockrails installed that have been been sitting at my local dealer for a week now.

Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update Thurs. May 28
So dealer called me this morning. Apparently service mgr took my rig home last night to do test run and ensure all ok. On his way into the shop this morning it failed and went into limp mode again. Just glad it happened before they gave it back to me. Kudos to the service mgr for the testing to make sure all was good....or not.
Current diagnosis...needs new electronic shift control module. I'm wondering if the bad connector has actually caused this issue. With a loose connector, I would imagine there could possibly be some "arcing" which would not be a good thing with electronic circuit boards.
Anyway we now have another day..maybe 2 or 3 ... wait time.
Damnnnn.

Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update Fri May 29
So a quick check in with servicing dealer on Fri morning, I learn the module we need shows on
b/order. For how long? Dunno but should hear more on this on Mon. Dealer "flagged" the first request as "vehicle off road" meaning out of service so it should get priority status when part becomes available. If you're keeping score, I had the car 7 days and its been in the shop now for 14.

Man that sucks

Oddly enough my factory order that finally came in over a week ago is still sitting in the service shop and hasn't been put up for sale.

Hopefully they get you sorted out here shortly. I just got my Jeep back, after being without it for two weeks. Enterprise reimbursed me all but two days for my rental, and the dealership paid the rest since it was a warranty repair for me.
