Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update July 16
So I've had her back now for 9 days....all is good other than we have the "rattle" others have reported...its the same sort of sound you get when heat shield is loose. Could be a loose skid plate, heat shield or maybe Dom def plate. A metal to metal vibration of some sort....annoying but not a big issue, and I'd like to avoid the shop for a bit LOL...I will hold off a bit before having this looked at.
Well, other than trying to get my rockrails installed...dealer not doing...so I have got my friend who runs a bodyshop is gonna take a shot. Pretty hopeful he will make it work out.
Starting to play with features on the Jeep and enjoying continued mileage numbers. Loving the "airride" ... such a treat after my Wrangler. First major wash and shine planned for this weekend
Got one of DOM'S prototype fuel caps ordered, and still considering my tire options for the fall.
Still leaning toward the G/Y Duratracs for a snowflake rated A/T tire so we won't need switch, out twice a year. The stock Michelins aren't bad for now...more road noise than I expected. Having had
the Duratracs previously, I am aware of some noise there.
Current mileage @ 2360 km as I am still working out of town a couple days per week so weekly avg 800+ km. I 've actually driven the rig for 16 days so far. But loved 'em all.
Max and I are "bonding" LOL

So glad to see you back with the ecodiesel. What a nightmare! Can't go wrong with Duratrac's, or K02's, or Cooper AT3's (I think that's what they're called).

@ thunderbolt

Nice. Glad u got your jeep back.

I had a few guys contact me about vibration around my plate area as well. About two or 3 ppl mention it happen after scr warranty. This was after the dealer took it off and re installed it. It's easy fix. Just gotta get under there and secure it better.

Another incident wasn't even my plate. It was a broken exhaust hanger near my plate. That something maybe to take a look at. Take off my plate completely so u can rule that out. I'm sure this is something u r going to do any way. . Good luck and jeep me posted.

Thanks for the support too!!

Update July 31
So, got my Jeep back from bodyshop today...Mopar Rock Rails look great! Pretty solid pc here.
Guy tells me est 5 hours labour...interesting when you consider dealer supposedly spent day and a half and still did not succeed? So, for all of you considering this add on part, YES they will fit on a 2015 Diesel JGC. I'll get some pics up in the next day or so.
Still need to modify my front Mopar molded splash guards so I can re install. Looks doable...anyone else done this?
Rec'd my DOM42 fuel cap this week...real quality unit! Will check magnet fit before fitting to jeep.
Couple of questions for you guys:
There is a little rubber hose hanging down just inside left rear wheel...is this an uh-oh ...or some sort of overflow for fuel line? When I was peeking at my rails, I noticed it. I was wondering if bodyshop knocked something loose.
Will the Mopar chrome step rails fit any other years / models other than the JGC 2011 - 2015?
I have a set for sale and someone asked me this question...not sure.
Anyone here interested? I am in Owen Sound Ontario and travel to kitchener on a reg basis...daughter lives Port Elgin so over there weekly as well. $400 for factory new.

Current miles @ 3455 km ...avg mpg @ 34 in Econo mode ....mostly hiway miles @ 60-65 mph.
Will buy G/Y Duratracs in Sept. Then I think we're done with extra parts...Bosch icon wipers when current set shows wear.

Any ideas on this?

That's the overflow drain hose for the fuel area. It keeps diesel and DEF from running down your paint.

It should be between the fender liner felt and the fender trim, not between the fender liner felt and the tire.

Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update Sept 5...7209 km's
Had Jeep into dealer on Friday. Rattle turned out to be loose heat shield as suspected.
Had TCM flashed to see if it will solve some rather harsh shifts we've had.
Got Uconnect flashed for an update.
Had air filter checked out based on comments on this forum...yes its cracked ...new one ordered.
Dealer did not Install my new Gatorback mudflaps...seems they require some modification to fit.
I'll get my buddy to do.
Other than that, all is good. Overall mileage holding steady @ 34 mpg Canadian standards.
Planning on ordering my Goodyear Duratracs towards end of the month...and maybe those chrome exhaust extensions...they look pretty good too.
Pretty pleased, and it is quite an enjoyable drive...still LOVIN' my colors choices both inside and out.

Glad to hear your running well. I had the latest tcm flash done a while ago but still notice the 1-2 bump but only in sport mode. Otherwise it was an improvement.

Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update Sept 18...mileage 9,167 km
New mudflaps now installed...see below for pics. These should do the job. I think I'll spray some silicone on the insides to help snow etc to slip off. I have a can here ... might as well use.
Stupid rattle / vibration has returned..worse than ever. Likely still the heatshield issue. I think it will need to be bent away to allow more clearance...either that or some sort of damper? Not sure if a weather strip sort of thing might work.
Still plan on the Duratracs on some sort of winter rim. Still undecided whether to run year round or change out. Probably wouldn't get squat to sell off used Lattitudes, so might be best to do change out.
Mileage holding @ 34+ mpg Canadian

Re: 2015 Overland Eco Diesel - comments / observations

Update Oct 20...12, 657 km's
Got my DuraTracs on black steel rims. ( see pics below) Kind of a military look now LOL. I'll switch back to stock rims / Mich Lats come spring. Rig still performing well, and mileage holding steady @ 34 mpg canada standards. I did notice tranny a little slow to upshift when cold (such as neg temps we had over the week end) It does settle down once at running temps. Overall, love affair continues.
