2015 vs. 2016 Ecodiesel

The Ecodiesel appeals greatly to me. I am deciding if reading this forum is going to scare me off of one or not but if not, wondering if there will be any suspected improvements to the diesel platform for 2016 which might make me want to wait. Or do you think any changes to the emissions systems, etc. would just be running changes? Any ideas? Thoughts?

Haven't heard of any issues with the 2015s so far.

FYI 2016 Models won't ship until very late 15, somewhere around November.

Re: 2015 vs. 2016 Ecodiesel

2016's will be a completely revamped Grand Cherokee. No guarantee that they will even have an EcoDiesel (although I suspect they will). People seem to be happy the both the 14's and 15's. The 14's had a few bugs, but most have been fixed with flash updates. You will not be disappointed with the torque of the diesel. I have a 14, and wouldn't trade it for anything. It is a great vehicle.

Re: 2015 vs. 2016 Ecodiesel

I hope they get the emission gremlins worked out. I'm sitting the 15's out to wait and see. I'm not a big fan of gas DI engine either, which is what had me leanin toward a diesel again. I had good luck with the older ones but they didn't have all the emissions crap these new ones do.-Rockydee.

Milous, that's his site I linked to, is probably the best source of information when it comes to Jeep.

Re: 2015 vs. 2016 Ecodiesel

When I ordered my '14 in early '13 I walked into the dealership with a printout of the prices. My salesman asked if he could make a copy, because they hadn't received them yet.

Before the new radio specs were out, Milous warned us to be very careful because one of the radio's would require an expensive upgrade to get navigation.

Throughout the entire build up to the '14 rollout, Milous provided us with 'tidbits' of information including what colors and options would have a delayed availability.

Nobody is infallible, but he has one hell of a track record.

Re: 2015 vs. 2016 Ecodiesel

Don't let forums scare you off of a vehicle. You have to remember that the vast majority of ecodiesels out there are operating fine, trouble free and with satisfied owners it's a vocal minority (and I really need to emphasize minority) that post problems...but what you want and enjoy it
