3.0L Diesel AFE Mach Force Exhaust?

Hola, I've done a bit of searching around the site (the diesel forum and the exhaust/performance forum) and see a lot of threads around AFE CAIs for the 3.0L CRD, but not much around the AFE exhaust system. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this system as online reviews are almost non-existent. I'm hoping to get a bit more noise out of my CRD, but it sounds like the existing systems from Magnaflow and others don't add much noise.

I'm considering adding this exhaust and a CAI to add some soul and a bit of performance to the CRD. Let me know what you guys think!

The audio in the first comparison is either doctored or captured with inconsistent methods. Even the idle clatter direct from the engine sounds different.

I've got a 3" to dual 3" system with 6" resonators on the rear and it don't sound like that. Maybe if the DPF was deleted it might.

I have not had a chance to dyno the car as yet, I will as I have a new tune to put in it with the EGR turned off and some additional throttle mapping changes. When this system was put on my car for testing about 2 years ago I did notice better throttle response and it picked up 10kw at the wheels on the dyno but now I have a throttle booster plugged in its too hard to notice any difference.

The sound is subtle and very deep, I took the car to the Victorian high country on the weekend and probably used 3 x the fuel as my foot was planted just about all weekend enjoying the note.

Re: 3.0L Diesel AFE Mach Force Exhaust?

I'm going back on what I said concerning getting a enclosed CAI. I saw K&N just released their CAI and pulled the trigger; I couldn't help myself. Of all the aftermarket suppliers, K&N has most always provided a dyno chart for their products. +12hp/+30ft-lbs! Pretty neat they included an aluminum intercooler pipe as part of the kit. Kinda makes one think if the other vendors performed dyno testing but didn't see the need to provided the intercoooler pipe.
I bought the CAI from Autoanything.com and they included a filter recharging kit for free, no shipping charges or tax.

Thanks for the heads up on the K&N system. I have one on my 99 WJ and have loved the sound it provides to the 4.7L.

Let us know how the WK2 handles the K&N. Are you going to do any real test to see if there are any changes? If so let us know.
