500 miles and new rubber

275/65/18's compared to stock tires. I was suprised at how quiet it still was.

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

Any tire rubbing at full lock? Any chance to flex the suspension and check for clearance? Thx!

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

Yes. At all levels, no rubbing whatsoever. Even in park mode it doesnt rub. The closest spot is the rear tires. They are closer than the front. But no rubbing.

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

Aren't the stock tires 265/60/18? If so, your tire is 0.4 inches wider and 1.5 inches taller. Ride height is increase .75 inches. Circumference is 5.1% difference as is speedometer error. It would be interesting to know how mpg and acceleration are affected by the 5% change in overall gearing.

That's good news that there is no rubbing! Thanks for the update.

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

Stock tire size I believe is 30.5 and new tire size is 32.2. It is hard to tell how much it has gone down because I dont have many miles on the new tires, not even a half tank, but looks to have lost around 1.5 mpg. Do a correction and it may bring it close. I havent talked with jeep yet to see if they can get the speedo close. It doesnt matter. Jeep looks so much better.

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

Looks great! Very nice to see (since I have a Granite '14 CRD with ORAII also!!)

I've been debating 275/65/18 or 265/65/18 for awhile.

Do the tires stick out of the fender openings at all (meaning is the extra width throwing rocks on the side of the truck)?

How has the driving impression (power/acceleration) changed (if at all)?

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

No rock throwing. It doesnt stick out really any noticeable differenece. Figure 5 mm more on the outside of the rim and 5 mm on the inside. Thats not even 1/4" difference. I lost about 1.5 mpg. But now my speedo is off. So prob close. Looks much better with the fenderwells filled in a little more.

Re: 500 miles and new rubber

I assume you have the air suspension on your jeep?

How much clearance is there if the tire was just a hair larger in height? I believe your tire should measure to 32.1" on the specs sheet, so would a 32.6" tire still be in the clear?
