I was thinking of the leather inside, but good point. I presume the dealer washes his cars.

I was thinking of blind spot warning I think on the side warning. You've got me stumped on rear cross path.
Go easy on me - the sales manager didn't know any of this stuff.
You can turn it off.... my 14's fcw is flaky with false positive's, but no alert when a deer ran in front of the jeep.... Plus it will error in the evic and shut itself off randomly.

YMMV

What you are describing is not normal. My FCW is very stable.

Re: Advanced Technology Group

My FCW does not false positive but maybe once in a 1000 occurrences and is easily over ridden. The cross path sensor and blind spot both share ultrasonic detectors.
I am very happy with all the technology this ride has. The blind spot monitoring is essential as there are some large blind spots rear as you know.

Haha, come back and say that again after you spend 6 months driving around with FCW set to "far" rather than "near" and have the active braking enabled.

There are plenty of threads about FCW false positives on this forum.

Re: Advanced Technology Group

We had an issue with our FCW giving false positives. We took it in and they adjusted it. No problems since......

Re: Advanced Technology Group

I have the tech package and love it . . I don't know why you would want to turn off the collision warning / breaking. I have about 4000 on my GC and the warning to break came on 2 times . both inolved cars in front of me making a turn off the road and apparently as they were turning I got too close and the system said brake! No big deal.Once I was pulling into a gas station and car in front of me couldn't get through the crowd and the car did brake. I probably would have seen it but. . that's ok with me that it intervened.
The other features are wonderful, the guided backup camera on the 8 inch screen - and it beeps when it senses something . . . great, the autodim headlights and self
modulating wipers, remote start . . I think the package is about $3000 to me it 's a bargain . . like power windows and heated seats, once you have these features there will be no going back.

They are great features that when truly used once will pay for themselves. I have to remind myself that I don't have the "driver aids" when driving another vehicle though.

I don't like my FCW. I've almost been hit a few times when it senses a car in the right turn lane and hits the brakes hard. Always wondered if the brake lights work when the FCW or ACC breaks the car.

Yes they do. FWIW, in those "crazy Ivan" right turn scenarios if u r able to C Ivan do his thing u can minimize the FCW abrupt braking by giving a slight left steer input and that tells FCW that u r on it...it works for me when I can anticipate Ivan but if its truly a crazy Ivan that not even Ivan himself knew what he was about to do, well, pucker time
