What do you think of the terra grapplers? Did you go stock size? Do you have 18's or 20's? How many miles have you put on them? I put those on my last truck and are my first choice for the jeep. Seen they have a G2 coming out so will probably wait for those unless I can find a great deal on the G1's.
I picked up my CRD Nov 25th last year. Today the odometer turned over 29,000 miles. I've used it to tow my 6600 lb Airstream over 5000 of those miles. It's started without hesitation at -22 F and taken me over terrain my Jeep Wrangler had trouble with. I've averaged 18 mpg while towing and 28 mpg overall. My only gripes are with the very poor Sirius reception (yes, I've had the antenna TSB done), and a 1400-1500 rpm vibration/rattle I can't seem to isolate. Overall, I'm very happy with it.
I have this vibration too! I thought it was DOM's DEF injector protection plate, but I've triple checked it, I can't tell what it is. It doesn't happen during revving when sitting in the driveway, only happens when you are actually moving and its subtle. It's quiet enough to not bother me too much.
After 5500 miles my limited 4x4 diesel started giving me rough shifts while downshifting from 2nd to 1st. I took it in and they flashed it with all the same modules as listed by the OP (except the Diagnostic System Improvements). Shifts are now good and no negative side affects.
Purchased in June, 8k miles so far, 28.5mpg lifetime avg fuel economy.
My HVAC is squirrely meaning when you start the diesel and drive off the AC comes on for a minute then switches off and sits there for a while them comes back on seems to overshoot the temp and settle down about maybe 10 minutes. Worst implementation of frequency and amplitude control I have seen in a while. Did the flash for the HVAC correct anything for you? I can live with the HVAC this way but not the best Jeep effort.
I love the diesel by the way and have DOMs DEFI plate installed. I have 6200 miles on mine and it is an awesome vehicle.
Every vehicle has some teething issues but the JGC has impressed me a great deal. I like the ride and handling and the torque with the 8 spd ZF transmission. Implementation of the U-Connect is much better than my Outback or any of my BMWs.
You will NOT be sorry buying one of these. Mine was a pre Christmas build (21 DEC)...
I really don't use the AC that much unless I'm taking a long trip. I seem to remember when I first got the vehicle that the AC temp regulation was a little erratic but I didn't think to specifically check it after the HVAC flash. Since the flash on those rare occasions that I use the AC no noticeable annoyances sprung up.
I'm 6 months in with 5000kms, very happy so far! Starting to get rough changes in 1 and 2, but no flashes applied yet. Hopefully they will fix that at the next service.
6 months. 5k miles. No problems. Not one. I've learned a lot about the car, things I should have read up on, but they don't constitute issues.
Very happy happy happy with ownership. I know, I've got a long way to go to meet some of your total mileage, but here's knocking on wood that there are no issues as time goes on as well.
After 9 months no major issues, Have DOM's plate. had to locktite it to keep it tight but good now. I had the leaking axle issue, got it fixed right away after noticing.. then when the recall came out, my dealer said the only way he could clear my truck of the recall was to replace them again! so they did under warranty twice! My fasteners came loose on my sway bars (Weird !)and those were fixed under warranty....
Over all very happy with the vehicle. Avg 30 mpg on a 2800 mile trip.Have had all software upgrades and have seen no negative effects.
Bought an extended warranty 6yr/100k for peace of mind as I think I'll keep it for a while....
1 year ownership of my JGC Ecodiesel in Sweden. 26.000 Kms so far. No issues. A rattle in the sunroof that went away by itself (!). Engine and gearbox is fantastic. Have been paying offroad a little, climbing, waterfording etc. Car is obviously much more capable than I dare use it. Have verified topspeed until limiter several times. Car is very stable at speed and could probably go faster is limiter was off. I'd say a real 220-225 Km/h. Silent car. Plenty of character and charisma. Very happy with the car.
Flaws: They could have done a better job a the feeling / speed in the steering wheel. A/C is not super fast at taking care of mist on side windows. Coming from Mercedes world, I have to mention that the service points are not customer service driven.
