Any diesel changes for 2017?

Anyone know if the 2017 diesel has any changes compared to the 2016?

Looking at a very low mile 2016 versus ordering a 2017. Dont just want to assume they are the same.

I think the 17's will get an upgraded transmission.

WK2Jeeps.com - 2011-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a lot of 2017 info.

It does get the updated ZF transmission, the 8HP75. Supposed to be more efficient and, as the number indicates, slightly stronger - max torque750Nm vs. 700 is the previous. I'm not aware of any engine changes.

Considering the previous responses, If you do decide to go with the 2016, be sure to get absolute verification that all the flash updates in the TSB for the 5W40 oil spec change have been applied.

Ended up ordering a 2017 since there were no 2016 equipped how I wanted. We go all oil changes in house and have bulk T-5 and T-6 on hand. Just found Baldwin does not carry the ED oil filter, so need a source for those.

Congrats. You'll be happier going with the '17 I think.

There is more of a selection available now. I use WIX on everything with a filter so will be using them on my new ED as well. (Fleetfilter, Rockauto)
ChampLabs is the OEM MOPAR supplier and also prints up other brands: STP, LuberFiner etc. STP from the corner parts stores. Your Baldwin supplier may also carry LuberFiner.
Mann is yet another.

Prices vary considerably. Just shop around online.

I have those filters. Just put two in yesterday. Not saying they won't do the job but the quality of them is nothing compared to the mopar ones
