Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

November 2013
38,800 miles
Incorrect DEF error message at 35,600. Rev. E software update. MIL light now on since 38,700. Another appointment at the dealership on Wednesday.
It's been a great car overall, but this emissions thing may be its downfall.

I have to agree.

I love the range, off road capability, comfort and convenience. But if the diesel emissions are going to die every year then this is a liability. And Chrysler is going to get sued if they even look like balking at handling the continuing cost. They already got torn a new one for bad cats on older vehicles.

24900+ with no major issues thus far. I think the key to no major issues so far as the emissions controls are concerned can be attributed to driving at highway speeds for a considerable portion of my commute to/from work, which also adds considerably to oil life.

I thought the same thing until the emissions issues started cropping up after 35000 trouble free miles. 90% of my driving is done between 45 and 75 mph with very little city driving.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

Mine is low mileage - I bought it in March 2014 and it has 13K miles.

Two months ago I met another JGC CRD owner in San Jose CA whose rig had 35K miles on it. He is a high-mileage user and it was about a year old, IIRC. He's owned several Diesels and he was mildly happy with this JGC. I have no idea if he's on this forum.

Agree with the OP, the 1st to report in with 100K miles, let's have an internet party! I am hoping to get 300K+ out of mine.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

We have had the diesel in australia for a while now, mine is less than a year old and has ~9,000kms on it. But if I look at the car sales sites, here's one with some miles on it:

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo MY2013 Sports Automatic

88,000 miles.

I'll have to wait and see, but you, vtail and others have been on here longer than me and have never given me any reason to doubt what you've said in your posts. That's reason enough to give me caution about the future reliability of my vehicle.

Mine is 1 year old, with 22,000 miles, maybe 8,000 pulling a 21 foot travel trailer. No issues.

This just makes it take longer for the issues to show up. I would prefer to put the truck through it paces in the first 12k miles so that I still have a recourse with the lemon laws which is exactly what happened in my case. I just turned 18k miles today, the statue to limitations here in NY for lemon law cases. I would not be happy if all my problems showed up after 18k miles.
