Second MIL indication in the past three months. The first one (a "ghost" code) cleared itself after seven start cycles. This MIL still illuminated after five start cycles. Strange thing is, both MILs came on at exactly the same geographic location, heading, and speed, but three months apart.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

I have 23000 trouble free miles on my 2014 jeep overland. I received it in November of 2013 and was one of the first diesel jeeps out. I added Dom's skidplate with about 15,000 miles on it. I tow a 5000lb trailer for 200 miles about every 10,000 miles. I almost always use 100% diesel, but about every three tanks I will get a tank of B5. I did have the service phone message, but an update fixed that. I have to add a quart of oil once between my 8000 mile oil changes.

I think this MIL has something to do with the fuel or fuel filler cover. Just as this light came on at exactly the same location, heading and speed as the last one three months earlier, the MIL reset when I took the Jeep in to top off the diesel. Strange.

Seem odd to have to add (1) quart. When does it start to go down on the stick? I have 4000+ Miles since my last change at 3,000 and it has not went down a bit on the stick. I'm using Pennzoil Ultra Euro L. My dealer changed it at 3,000 for free. I'm going 5,000+ before I change it again.

I had to add a quart after about 5000 miles the first two oil changes. I was doing a good amount of towing both times. I have gone 4000 miles this oil change and the level hasn't dropped at all. I use the factory penzoil.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

Mine has 14K miles on it. At every fillup I check the oil. Every time. Fortunately it has never needed additional oil, the level on the dipstick stays constant.

I concur. I doubt highway driving has any protective benefit. I have 24,000 km on the odometer and subject my EcoDiesel to the worst short hop 90% in-town driving pattern. No problems to date except 15 L/100 km fuel economy in winter and 11 L/100 km in the summer (haha). The machine doesn't even bitch about the DPF getting full, despite the lack of highway driving.

If these short distance, stop and go, barely-have-time-to-warm-up-the-engine driving patterns were responsible for killing cats then mine would have died long ago. It may be coming (just like it has for so many others), but it's not due to "bad driving" use.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

27,000 kms tranny and donk, smooth as silk. Did a 16,000 kms trip to top end and down west coast back to Tasmania fully loaded and pulling a camper trailer fully loaded.
No codes
No dpf issue.
Did have both front axles replaced at 1000 kms all good, no further action.
Took the WK2 out to Cape Peron national park and onto Herald Bight beach standard running gear, vehicle exceeded my expectations..... Fingers crossed but I love this vehicle, ticks all the boxes for me.
Cheers

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

28000 miles---had the SCR cat replaced and flashes done.
Delivery 1 week before Thanksgiving 2013 (so this is another of the first GC North American diesels)
I bought it for my wife so I get reports from her when Cel is on or anything else comes up and gotta admit this is the roughest start of " letting wife drive a new problem free vehicle" I have experienced. She loves the performance and when I tell her I will switch cars with her she always says No way! BTW I drive a modded 05 TJ manual shift.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

Purchased my 2014 3.0L Turbodiesel in November, 2013. Have 62,700 miles on it to date. Have done all the oil changes (10k miles standard) and fuel filter change myself.

Had it in the shop twice; once to have DEF crystallization dealt with and secondly to have the CAT replaced. Both were warrantied. Had the original transmission shudder but a re-flash dealt with that and I've felt no shudder in 30k miles.

I have been very satisfied with this vehicle. Heck, I still have the original Michelin Latitudes on and will easily get to 70k on them. Going back with Michelin LTX's.

Re: Any high mileage diesels out there? How many miles do you have?

I too have a November 2013 purchased 2014 JGC. Dealer said it was the first one in Maine! It currently has 29,000 miles. It was in the shop last summer for DEF crystallization issues (2 1/2 weeks!) and is currently in the shop for an unknown system shutdown (possible CAT). Also waiting for replacement front early warning accident sensing unit. Otherwise it has been enjoyable. I am reserving some comments until I find out what the current issue is and how long it will be out of service this time. At least the service guys at my dealer have been good to deal with. Just wish I wasn't quite so familiar to them.
