Have had the gas 2015 overland now for 3 weeks, it's already more reliable than the Diesel

Wow- Your diesel must have been a real load. Glad things worked out. Honestly i think you got the last of the good gassers from Chrysler for a while. Once they start with that DI Fiat mulit-air PUG upgrade my bet is the gasser teething pains start all over!-Rockydee.

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

I must say, the least painful part of my Jeep ownership has been the buy back. I sent in my letter to Chrysler and heard back a few days later acknowledging receipt. A few days after that I heard from the regional manager (I think) who told me that, yep, I qualified and he'd get the process started asap.

I should be handing it back early next week.

Honestly, it would be a wonderful vehicle if I could trust it. Unfortunately I can't. C'est la vie!

I have to agree. I opened a case with Chrysler and within a week I had a rep with the resolution team. They reviewed my service history and gave the green light on a replacement. I must say that they certainly did right by me and made me some money in the process. You can certainly tell that they are in full damage control mode right now.

On another note, my first Jeep went back into the shop this morning with a horrible gear whine from the front end of the vehicle and tranmission shifting issues. I don't expect to see it for 7-10 days.

Just got the call. Both front wheel bearings are shot with only 18k miles on the clock, not very reassuring for the 2nd Jeep.

Re: Anyone have a successful buy back?

My 2012 jeep jk has been having clutch issues since around 3 k miles and I'm at 55k now since then I have gone through 6 clutches and over 3 months in the shop. They have changed everything they could to get it stop making noises and clutch issues but they can't seem to do so. So Chrysler has agreed to buy back everything I've paid and they are paying lawyer fees. Thank god for the lemon law. All these miles are covered so they won't be deducting too much.

I don't know about your state, but as it was explained to me, the first 12k miles are free, after that you pay depreciation as a percentage of the full value of the vehicle and some expected lifetime mileage. (the lawyer tossed out ~120k)

Just wanted to follow up on this post that my lemon replacement vehicle did not cost me a dime, actually made me money, and got 18k free miles.

Once a buy back is agreed upon --- how long does it take to get the new vehicle?

Verbally or is that through ISG and paperwork agreed and processed? After the regional rep agreed and ISG got it to process it took about 5 weeks for mine. The vehicle was already sitting at the dealership for about 8 weeks as they ordered me a new one knowing it would be swapped.

It's been about two and a half weeks since the rep agreed to the buy back. I was told to expect the transfer next week at some time.

I can't wait to get my new toy!

Anyone have a successful buy back?

On Friday my case manager told me my case has been escalated two levels and that I should hear from my new case manager in 3-7 days. The new case manager tried to call me that day, but unfortunately I was unable to answer her call. I guess I'm wondering what I should expect to happen. Are they going to go ahead with a buy back or offer me a replacement?

My SRT has been in the shop now for well over 30 days and is still not fixed.

My problems started with 250 miles on it. It now has 2,560 miles and has been in the shop five times, six if you count me having to bring it back to have the exhaust bolt reinstalled that fell out after one of the repairs.

This has been by far the worst new car experience I've ever had. I'm hopeful that Chrysler does the right thing here and offers me a resolution and not just another attempt to repair it.

BTW this has been my fourth jeep purchase in 3 years. I have owned three flawless Jeep Wrangler rubicons before this SRT. I've even restored a 46' Willys Jeep. I am a huge Jeep fan. They need to make this right.
