Re: Anyone heard of the FS-2500

These guys have been selling kits for years and they work. I had planned to install one on my Super Duty but sold it instead.
Most quality bypass filters do a great job...

EXPENSIVE!!! But they have been around forever. I will be on the look if they come out with one specific to the GC. It would have the right bracket and hoses.

Re: Anyone heard of the FS-2500

Nothing new, just another companies idea. Cummins has used bypass filters for years on most engines larger than 19 Liter, many large displacement diesels have a bypass oil filter, id say the smaller 5.9/6.7 probably don't have them due to cost.

Re: Anyone heard of the FS-2500

Bypass filters from my experience are generally much larger than the regular filter, take a bypass % of the oil that is going through the system, and filters it to a tiny micron level. Usually they run about 3-5 oil change intervals.

The most overlooked benefit in my mind is the extra oil you can now run. That increase in volume helps control heat as well!

Re: Anyone heard of the FS-2500

I used it on my cummins. I worth while piece when your using them to work hard. its overkill for an ecodiesel (IMO), I would just use a catch can, and service at slightly less intervals than normal.
