anyone know what this knob is for

In the cargo area of my Jeep Cherokee diesel, there are knobs on both side that are a mystery to me. Anyone know what they are for?

With appreciation...

Probably to hold the cargo net.

Is a cargo net an accessory?

Re: anyone know what this knob is for

Yes, cargo net. And if you bought your rig new it should have come with one. I think this is where GoPlzGo was going with that. If you didn't get one, see your dealer and they should give you one.

It comes in handy, with how the tailgate lifts open. It helps keep your gear from spilling out.

Re: anyone know what this knob is for

I got a security blind in my rear hatch area but don't remember a cargo net. Where would I find that in the jeep. With the spare tire. I notice when my wife gets gallons of water, when I open the rear hatch they come flying out at me. It sounds like the cargo net solves that.

According to standard equipment list on WK2Jeeps, it is only standard on Overland and Summit.
