Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Hello Mister,

I am planning to add tow hooks to my Summit. Did you encounter any problems? Is there anything I should watch carefully?

Thank you very much, Jan

I believe you refer to front recovery hooks. If you do, please refer to 2014-summit-front-tow-hooks

This is the thread I used to install mine. It has wealth of information, tips and instructions (I've posted a few myself). Note that this is not a 5 minute job. Taking off the front fascia in a summit is pretty ugly and you need to cut it to provide openings for the hooks. Also, this is all relevant only to NAFTA vehicles. If you are located outside of the NAFTA region front hooks might not fit your vehicle and might even be illegal to install.

I have a 2016 Limited 75th with about 600 miles on it and I love it. No problems at all so far.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

good to see happy owners, currently waiting to complete a long distance purchase of a new 2015 (Sept 8 2015 build) ecodiesel 4x4 with off-road II (had to search for one).

I had a 2001 WJ V8 4x4 laredo qt-II from new in 12/00 until I finally sold it 4/12. Drove it all over the country ... sold it for a 2012 F150 that's okay, but not what I want anymore - missed the grand cherokee

hope to get it in a week or so ... then the mod's and wheelin' begin

ORA-II is hard to find here as well, we had to order one. Congrats on the new rig!

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

The jeep dealer in Yakima, WA seems to be the only dealer who regularly has the OR-II package. My local dealer did not think I needed it so I went to Yakima.

Usually you cannot find the off-road package in all of Seattle!

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Hi - purchased my GC Overland diesel in Dec 2014 and have been very happy so far except for the terrible Sat Nav system which Jeep Aust are apparently aware of and are looking at a major changeover or update of map supplier etc.... Otherwise great fuel economy and excellent comfort and ride. Bought my GC so the wife and I could pull a decent caravan around Australia. Pick up a new 21ft caravan in August and looking forward to becoming Grey Nomads!
Cheers...

Looks like most of bugs from 2014 have been dealt with

Langkeys,

What's wrong with your SatNav system?

I have a 2015 Limited and can't complain about the SatNav.

Cheers,

DM

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

just got my 2015 diesel yesterday ... love it!

I actually bought it over the internet long distance, never had driven a diesel wk2 (but had a 2011 wk2 6cyl briefly for work). got it shipped. The reason I was wanting this rig so bad is when I had my 2001 WJ I really wanted to convert it to diesel, so when I found out they had diesel in the wk2 (I sort of left grand cherokees for a while) I had to have one.

i don't see a problem with the shifter, figured it out no problem - rather than looking at the shifter you just look at the display. I can see why rental fleets would want to avoid it, but even then it'd be a fast learning curve as it's very intuitive.

anyway, have only put about 150 miles on it since yesterday but I'm shocked at how much power it has even at 85 you can still get up and go (on econ, haven't turned that off).

the QL is pretty cool too. So, at least right now having owned it less than 24 hours ... love it
