Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Purchased my 2015 Limited end of November. 7500 miles later not one problem, fuel app says getting 29.4 MPG. So far, look forward to driving my Jeep
Looks like most of bugs from 2014 have been dealt with

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

'15 Limited also. with about 6500 miles on it I had 2 issues. First was the dodgy air filters. I replaced it with a AFE Proguard 7. The second problem I had was the air suspension pump. After replacement all is good. First 600 mile trip (half at 70, half at 62) The EVIC said 34mpg. On my normal commute I get around 28mpg. With winter blend I get 1-2mpg less.

I have only minor complaints, the shifter and I wish the rear wiper had a slower speed, or variable speed.

Love the ride of the air suspension. The turbo diesel has plenty of power, infact too much at times at slow speed. I put my foot into it at about 50 the other day, and I was surprised how this 5000# rig took off.

Definitely happy with my WK2.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Yep, add me in to the happy camper group. Got mine in January (a Nov. 2015 build). Took a 1700 mile road trip a couple of weekends ago, and got 27-28mpg doing 80+mph most of the time. Need to get some AT tires on it to do some more serious off-roading. Had to turn back on one forest road in New Mexico, when I didn't feel comfortable taking the all-season tires up a road covered with sharp rocks. I love, love, LOVE the power reserve of the Diesel engine. Passing is never an issue.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

mine is a Dec 2015 build that i just purchased two weeks ago. got over a thousand miles on it and so far it is a great vehicle. we traded in a 2009 tahoe ltz to try going down in size. the only way i was going to do that was if we got a mpg tradeoff. the diesel is averaging over 30mpg right now so very happy. no problems either but must admit i feel like we are taking a risk after reading about many issues with them early on. i hope the bugs are worked out of these by now but i joined the forum to learn more about this vehicle and other folks experiences. hoping to pick up some good tips on how to drive and take care of it to insure longevity.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Ordered mine in Oct 2014, delivered Feb 2015. Delay was due to upgrading emissions system. I assume I got the updated cat. Have 16K on the jeep. No issues other than ripped base on Air Filter. Replaced with new on, unfortunately it was part number "AA" which is the original part number. They have come out with a "AB". Which I assume is the upgraded one that fixes the ripping problem. Need to check it again. I also have turbo lag from a start and also during cruising when I step on it a bit. Just have gotten used to it. I wish it wasn't there as much. Other than that, great mileage and tows well. Mike

Yes we bought ours in early June/15, built in Jan/15 if I remember. Have 18000 Km on it (11000 miles) no issues. Very happy with it in general (sure, the shifter is stupid, but I only ever have an issue if I'm trying to shift quickly, like in a 3 point turn). I hope it stays reliable.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

Was so impressed with my '11 JGC that's never had a problem,I purchased a new '15,only problem we had was the 8.4 screen was glitchy and unresponsive, it was replaced under warranty on the 3rd visit, other than that it has been a problem free truck, only alittle over 3k on it so early days.Am very optimistic for its longevity as my wife is easy on the Jeep(she took it over as I prefer my '11) and were there a problem she wouldn't wait for me and would take it to the Dealership. As with others,I am in the happy Jeep garage.(4 Jeeps, all issue free).

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

I bought my 2015 Overland High Altitude 4x4 Diesel 2 1/2 months ago. I have about 1,500 miles and no issues. It's my first Jeep and I love it. It's to bad it took me this long to buy one. Just ordered some skids plates and super sliders and looking at changing the tires to some BFG AT KO2's

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

July 2015 Limited build... sat on the lot until Dec 30th when I liberated it. Very happy so far. Excellent mileage, 30-33 highway with responsible throttle usage under 75 mph. 5500 miles on the odo so far.

Same comments as others regarding the shifter, but its not an issue.

My biggest irritation is the UI. I have the 5 inch uconnect interface, and the bluetooth pairing is spotty, as are the voice commands and prompt volume. Got an incoming call last week and the ringer volume was so loud i almost ran off the road.

All in all no complaints, very happy (especially since diesel prices currently less than gas in my area).

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

I have a June 2015 build Limited CRD with 7,700 km on the clock and it has been faultless to date.

What I like :

The diesel engine is fantastic.
The vehicle is crammed full of goodies for a lot less money than a Discovery 4.
Ride is quiet and refined

What I don't like :

Not enough ground clearance for serious off road work
Build quality could be better
Spares prices are extortionist
20" wheels are useless for off road work (I opted to have them replaced with 18" wheels pre delivery)
Price and lack of aftermarket accessories in Australia

While that sounds like a lot of dislikes, would I buy another JGC - sure.

Cheers,

Znarfgh

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

2015 Overland bought in Sept last year. Just about ready for my first oil change and DEF fill. Loving it so far. I do a lot of in town driving so my average is 26 mpg but no complaints. and no problems.

Pulled my wrangler up a mountain with it the other day...17 MPG for a steady 2 hour up hill climb (A bit over 3000') then 15.5 to the top of the mountain (+ 3000 feet -- totaling a 6000 ft climb). I could not have been happier.

Only complaint is overall storage space (cubbies) I've had smaller cars with better.

Re: Are you happy 2015 or newer owner?

I am. Wished the Summit had provisions for off-road tow hooks, but I found a way to add them alright. Probably didn't need the Summit level with it's front and rear bumpers more inclined for on-road than off-road trekking, but I loved the interior and wanted the top-tier sound system.

I got the GDE tune early on primarily to save the engine from CBU; (high pressure EGR is silly stupid dumping raw diesel exhaust right back down the intake. At least a low-pressure EGR like on the new Range Rover treats the exhaust first.) Al Gore, Billary, and Barry O. all have burned more NOx than I ever will in my lifetime, multiple times over. The increased mileage and power are just a plus. I add Stanadyne Performance Formula and Lubricity additive to every fill, but I've been doing that on all of my diesels for 25+ years.

Had two small problems, one the dealer had to replace the DEF tank and the other the dealer had to adjust a heat shield on the exhaust that would start to run after it warmed up. I have the MaxCare 8/120 warranty and if the first 10k miles are any indicator, I will be really happy with my first Jeep!
