As adaptive trans learn mileage gets worse

Anybody else noticing their mpg continuing to go down? 90% of my commute is 55mph no stop. Used to get 26-27 mpg

Re: As adaptive trans learn mileage gets worse

I am getting poor mpgs. I live around hills. I have appointment to bring it in on Monday. Gonna have them look at the hi speed shudder, show them the bad air filter, and tell them about the poor mpgs.

I also have noticed my MPG go down a little since I had the flash update for the oil life. I haven't even done the flash for the transmission yet, and that make me leary

When do they begin changing to winter blend diesel in your area. I know I have had fillups where the entire tank had lower mpg. Diesel has some variability.

I'm with you on the shift point changes causing loss in economy. Just thought I'd mention that fuel quality may be a factor since we are all watching things closely lately.

I was getting 31 mpg and now I am lucky to get 28. My daily commute doesn't vary much and is mostly freeway on cruise. Since March I have put 11,000 miles on my Jeep so I have a good idea of what it used to do mileage wise. All was good until the latest round of flash updates.

I would say mostly flat with very slight rolling hills. I am in Northern Virginia and commute into the DC area.

Re: As adaptive trans learn mileage gets worse

So back from dealer and they said I've been getting poor mpg's because I had a dirty air filter. I said " oh really" Pop the hood and show me. They did and bam a fresh clean air filter. Dumb asses

Since I was on the subject, I pulled out the split air filter I discovered earlier. I made sure they noted that i had dusted the motor( post filter dirt). So at least that's in the system

They reset the Trans adaptive stuff too. I haven't tested mpg yet. But I know i still have that lurching 1-2 down shift. It showed up again prior to me going in today.

They tried the same dumb shit with me... I had a brand new filter as well (that they replaced less than 3 days prior)

So what was their answer?

Re: As adaptive trans learn mileage gets worse

I explain to them what was happening as far as the down shifting instead of staying in same gear and using the tq to get up a hill and they said they reset the adaptive shift thingy ( lol). Sorry I'll get the paper work later in the car and get the exact wording.

I honestly was tired from today and just drove it the 4 miles home ( hilly) but didn't check the shifting. I will do so tomorrow and report back
