Re: Attention K&N Filter Haters

Attached is my 9880 mile results. AFE Pro Guard 7 CAI installed at about 100 miles from new. Here's Blackstone's comments:
Copper, silver, and silicon were all elevated in this first sample from your new Grand Cherokee,
but that's pretty typical to find in the first samples from new engines. The metals come from wear-in (silver
is probably a soldering compound) and silicon comes from sealers. Look for this stuff to wash out once you
change the oil. Do you have to change the oil right now? Probably not, though it would bring you closer to
average more quickly if you did. Averages show typical wear after ~7,500 miles on the oil. If you'd like, put 2,000-3,000 more miles on this oil.

Re: Attention K&N Filter Haters

My money is on AFE ProGuard 7. I know, it's oiled, but it's MAF safe and helps trap the dirt and dust.

All I can say installed K&N cold air intake on my 2001 4.7 Cherokee limited at 500 miles. Last week traded in my 2001 with 206,496 miles on my new Eco diesel 2015 limited. Motor never had one problem, ran as good as when purchased new.
Nice! I've got 230K on my 2000 WJ with the 4.7 and also have used the K&N drop in filter since it was almost new. No problems. So how much (how little??) did they give you on trade?

$2000 could have sold for more$$ myself. Heated seats only thing not working, no oil leaks after 206000 miles.
Hope my 2015 performs as good lot better fuel mileage 2001 18 MPG all around, my 2015 getting 28.5 MPG after 2000 miles.

Re: Attention K&N Filter Haters

Haven't really researched but does K&N or any other company offer a CAI for the diesel?
