battery saver mode on evic

Over the past few days when the wife starts the jeep up on the dash it flashes " battery saver mode" called the dealer and they have never heard of it. So has anyone had the same message come up and what was the cause and/or fix? It seems to only flash in the mornings at first start up. I checked it yesterday after work and the evic said no stored messages.

Re: battery saver mode on evic

Is your dome light switch turned on?

Battery Saver

To protect the life of your vehicle’s battery, load shedding
is provided for both the interior and exterior lights.
If the ignition is OFF and any door is left ajar for
10 minutes or the dimmer control is rotated all the way
up to the dome ON position for 10 minutes, the interior
lights will automatically turn off.
If the headlights remain on while the ignition is cycled
OFF, the exterior lights will automatically turn off after
eight minutes. If the headlights are turned on and left on
for eight minutes while the ignition is OFF, the exterior
lights will automatically turn off.
NOTE: Battery saver mode is cancelled if the ignition is
ON.

I can say that the first two times it has happened the evening when it was parked nothing was left on. Right after she parked it I was in the garage working for 30 minutes and nothing was on.

Re: battery saver mode on evic

the computer might be sensing low battery voltage and turning off power draw components to preserve the voltage left in the battery. Maybe the start of battery failure. Usually when a vehicle sits for about 20-30 days and does not get used, the computer goes into battery saver mode to avoid a dead battery. There is always a draw on the battery when the vehicle is off. Have the dealer load test your battery.

That's too bad. I was hoping for a simple explanation.

I hope you get it sorted-out soon.
